Going to Northern Germany I wasn't expecting to see a spectacular castle (compared to southern),…read morebut it turned out to be amazing here! The ideas of the kids birthday parties for only €150 blew my mind. They let kids dress up as princesses and have a party in the castle or a knights themed party, and even a fairytale/fable themed one! You'd never find anything that creative in the US, and surely not for that price. I loved the dungeon and that sergeants quarters. It was all around spectacular! The gardens are beautiful as well. Well worth the trip!

Walk through the park, visit the rose garden or just sit on one of the benches and watch the swans on the lake. You can visit the interior of the castle which gives good insight to historical events and the live of former times. Many pictures show the real interior in the rooms. 3 floors can be visited from large ball rooms till smaller bedrooms and living rooms. A 15 minutes film in the first room gives a little more explanation to the castle.

I enjoyed that part of the experience the most. You can interact with the staff and they actually live on site to show how people lived during the Viking time-frame. They even grow vegetables and cook in the village. You can purchase handmade trinkets and food. Thanks for a great time.
