Recently,I spent a fine day in this cozy art museum.It has a fine collection of German Art from the…read moreRomantic Period to the middle of the 2oth Century.Painters well-represented in this art museum include;Casper David Friederich,Carol Von Carus,Johan Dahl,Johan Friederich Overbeck,Gotthard Kuehl,Wilhelm Trubner,Max Slevogt,Ernst Ludwig Kirschner,Max Beckmann, Lovis Corinth,and Edvard Munch("Self Portrait").I also appreciated its fine temporary exhibit of paintings from the Groningen Art Museum,including fine paintings by Willem Tholen("Rhenen"),Johan Jongkind,Mathiys Maris,Dirck Nijland,,Jan Toorop,Camille Corot,and Paul Gauguin.. This is not a large art museum,but I respect it for its quality paintings and other works of Art.

The cafetaria is part of the Museum of Modern Art that was built on the ruins of a burnt down…read moremonastery and church parts of which were beautifully integrated in the construction. It offers a limited card with light Mediterranean style lunches at very affordable prices. And this for outstanding quality. There was a notice that some of the staff are handicapped but I didn't notice anything unusual. Only pity is that their white wine list consisted of one Pinot Grigio
