I have been using Fix My PC for a number of years. I have put up with the sarcastic comments and…read morecondescending attitude of the company owner, Jon Frost for all this time, but have bit my tongue and said nothing because on the whole he has usually been able to fix any computer problems I have had. This last experience, however was the final straw. I rang Fix My PC to ask for assistance to be met with the usual sarcastic comment about my computer competence by Jon Frost; I took the computer in question in for repair to him, to be told that it was on its last legs; I asked what the problem was and was told it was too technical for me to understand. He then proceeded for reasons unknown to remove some parts of the computer that were holding certain components in place, and messed around with them. He installed Windows 10 Home Version instead of Pro; I tried to tell him on the initial call that I would bring the Pro installation disk and key with me, but was rudely interrupted and told to bring nothing but the computer. He said that certain parts of the computer would probably fall off by the time I returned the computer home. Upon arriving home, connecting the computer and booting it, I had major issues with it and so I shut it down and took the side panels off to find that the removal of the items mentioned in the last paragaph had caused the issues. When I switched the computer on again, it would not boot. I paid sixty pounds for this. I took the computer to another company; the owner spent several days making sure the computer was working again, did a fresh install of Windows 10 Pro and installed several missing drivers that have enhanced its performance. It is now working well again. The problem that Jon Frost said was serious and too technical for me to understand was a simple driver issue that was rectified in a matter of seconds. I have never left a negative review before but feel compelled to write about my experiences with this man. I would not recommend dealing with this company whatsover, to stop anyone running the risk of having a similar experience.

They are ridiculous: you pay for next day delivery and then they email you in the morning and state…read morethat there's been a problem but we've sorted it and will just deliver tomorrow instead. That's not acceptable, if you pay for next day delivery it's because you need the items on the specified day, if you didn't care when they would come then you wouldn't have paid the extra for a next day service. Avoid them at all costs.

GLEADLESS VALLEY COMMUNITY FORUM is a registered charity that is working to make Gleadless Valley a…read morebetter place in which to live and work. It offers training courses to unemployed people in subjects such as computer technology, English, maths etc.. It has a youth advice centre giving "confidential" advice on sexual matters, as well as other matters related to growing up into adulthood. It organizes public events such as the Gleadless Valley Festival which is held annually in Herdings Park. The festival is aimed at getting as many people - tenants and residents - together as possible and having a good time. It publishes the Gleadles Valley Newsletter, which is aimed at showing everybody all that is good in Gleadless Valley. Unfortunately they are not allowed to publish what's bad about Gleadless Valley, so due to that the Newsletter becomes a "one-sided affair" that doesn't really show the reality of the Valley. On the whole it's a good organisation with really good intentions. An organisation that's worth backing. Gleadless Valley Community Forum will be ten years old on 28 May 2010. WOW!!! How time flies.

Some of them 'disappearing' without any explanation as to why, good members of staff just gone from the building without any warning. An odd mix of good ethos that doesn't quite make it to reality, with good facilities but 'jobs worths' in charge of them. It's a lottery as to whether you get a nice member of staff or the opposite, and even the nice ones rarely seem that happy. The 5* review below is clearly written by a manager. When they need to write blurb such as this, there is clearly a lack of confidence in it's own ability and merit.

This stall offers to fit new batteries and straps to watches and can also do a wide range of other repairs. Anything they can't fix on the day they can give quotes to get sent away and fixed. The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable and they also sell a small selection of watches. We've never had a watch that they were unable to either fit a battery in or fix an issue and we've taken many over the years. Highly recommended - prices are very good and generally lower than mainstream jewellers.

I never write reviews like this but this company should really be taken to court for such bad practices - i just frankly don't have the time.
WAIST OF TIME AND MONEY This was my worst experience with…read morea carpet cleaning service. The cleaners arrived 2.5 hours later than the agreed time. The quality of the cleaning is terrible - the carpets are still dirty. The cat hair that I was promised would be removed was left in wet clumps all over the house. The carpets under the table and behind the doors in the rooms were not touched at all. A 3 bedroom house with carpets everywhere except the kitchen and bathroom was 'cleaned' in less than 30 minutes!? When I expressed my dissatisfaction with the quality of cleaning, they were rude to me, yelled at me that it took them a long time to get to me, refused to correct the situation and just left. A so-called 'discount' of £25 for this quality is totally unacceptable. I have regretted 100 times falling for the good reviews of this company. Perhaps they have other staff who do their job with integrity, but I was not so lucky to meetthem. Even after they left, when the carpet had dried a bit, I used a regular vacuum cleaner and picked up as much dust as usual. Moreover, there are some new stains on the dried carpet. I still don't understand what I paid money for??? P.S. When I left a negative review about them, instead of apologising, they blocked me on FB.

This city centre charity shop is a good place for a lunchtime browse. The shop is small inside, but…read moreit's well laid out. It stocks mainly clothes, plus shoes, books, CDs, videos, bric-a-brac, and a small section for toys. The central location means that stock turnover is high, so even if you pop in every day, chances are you'll see something new. However this does mean that the shop gets very busy, especially at lunchtime. The clothes rails are tightly packed together so it can be difficult to manouvre between them when other people are trying to do the same. Also, there's only one changing room, so there can be queues if you want to try something on. Prices are average although there is sometimes some illogical pricing - sometimes they have items from Primark etc that are priced close to what the items would have cost new. I particularly like the book section, as they have some interesting books in great condition, priced around the £1.99-£2.50 mark.
