They WILL NOT update you with any information on your case what so ever, you have to call to find out information and deal with the most miserable staff. If I could give them negative stars I would. I contacted CEL Solicitors Liverpool during early Jan 2024 after hearing (radio UK) their extensive…read moremedia attention and exposure of assisting claims of over £3000, as I had been a victim of fraudsters and scammers. And as a direct result I was scammed out of over £20,000 plus. My experience I found all the CEL staff members I had communication with need to be brought to serious questioning in respect of their legal knowledge and was certainly contrary to their media promotion as fully experienced experts. In general CEL simply wanted to close my case as quickly as is possible to move onto the next potential client/victim and only seem to provide an advisory service, despite their promotional advertising. The catalogue of ridiculous excuses prevailed to embarrassing and avoidable amount of time spent exploring the various excuses to close my file regardless of the adverse effects upon myself an elderly disabled vulnerable person. CEL made constant attempts to fob me off with this been a Civil matter. The full and accurate consideration of my file clearly had not been done from the outset or very conveniently so. No Solicitors only paralegals. Another reason to close my file because I asked for a Solicitor. CEL also expected me to write to the scammers because I knew their addresses even though I made CEL aware of the risks given their existing other criminal offences/charges against them (domestic violence) and aliases. CEL were to make contact with a very important witness but did not. CEL did not contact the banks. Eventually and under duress I was provided with a form of a template letter to complete and submit myself to the bank. CEL did not want to provide an official letterhead. When asked why? the response was we feel you can manage yourself. CEL also presented compliments in regards to the works by the scammers and given the limited works were of very poor workmanship and non compliant with building regulations. And none of the works undertaken have been inspected or approved nor completed. I am beginning to wonder if CEL are scammers THEMSELVES!
