I experienced some heart issues which caused me to be hospitalized st the end of 2017. My insurance changed with the new year, so my Primary Care Physician sent me to Dr. Donna Gallik in the Cedars Towers for my follow up care.
My first taste of her office and care were disappointing. Her staff was extremely disorganized and filled with people who seemed they were in over their heads. I waited more than an hour to be brought into a room and then much longer for a nurse to take my vitals. After an extended period of time, the doctor rushed in, spoke with me for a brief time and then had someone hook me up for an EKG. Another long wait and then I was told she wanted me back in a week for a stress echo. As I stood at the counter to make another appointment, her incompetent secretary/receptionist informed her that she had no record of my insurance, even though I had provided them everything when I checked in. Dr. Gallik began screaming at her employee and complaining that now she wouldn't be paid for my visit. Highly unprofessional.
A week later, my next appointment was canceled and rescheduled for a week later. That appointment was also canceled. When I finally got into see her for my next visit, I was sent home because of a problem with an authorization. Eventually, in March, a full 6 weeks after my initial visit, I came in for an echo test. I was told I would have results in 3 days, but if I didn't hear from them, to call. What a surprise, no call. I called and was told the doctor would call me back. So began my over 2 months quest to find out my results. I was given a myriad of excuses and I must say, at this point, her recent staff additions, Jose and Ivan, were the only reason I remained patient, but even I have a breaking point. 10 days ago I called for over the 20th time to speak with Dr. Gallik to get the results of my echo and was assured she would call. Again, no call, just her continued poor service and disrespect.
Today I called the office and informed Ivan that I was filing a grievance with my insurance company, writing a Yelp review and refusing to pay my small copay.
I cannot say whether Dr. Gallik is a good or competent Doctor, but what I can say is that she has absolutely no follow through and they she has caused me a great deal of anxiety, which is certainly not good for someone with heart issues.
Shame, Shame, Shame on you Dr. Gallik. I still don't have the results of my test. You are supposed to do no harm and you have failed miserably. I'm done with you and your unprofessionalism. I've been provided the name of another doctor and I will gladly go to see a professional who cares about their patients. It's time for you to retire. read more
