Swift, honest and generous. I dented the tailgate of my brand-new Ford Maverick pickup truck. Of course, as a pickup, dents are signs of honor, but it was brand-new, so I took it to the folks at Donlyson, asking if they could take off the tailgate and fix it, so's I'd didn't have to leave the truck. Sure, they said. Then Francis took a deeper look, asked if I was paying, or insurance, and told me it wouldn't be worth it. That because of the lettering, that pulling out the dent, the buffing and Bondo and shaping, it'd all be right expensive, and never exactly right. However, he got some magic (acetone) special cleaner, and got rid of the paint scrapes, making the dent far less savage. For free, as a neighborly gift. If ever I need any further repairs to anything, I'll be back, and meanwhile have no compunction recommending them as your first stop. read more

I had my car towed to Francis after having a fallout with the shop in Pasadena. The other shop refused to do a lot of repairs that my car needed. I was glad they did because Francis like a professional contacted my insurance and discussed all the necessary repairs. The adjuster went to inspect my car and approved all the necessary repairs. Francis acts like he's going to help you out and make sure your car gets 'professional' work done but the work they do is actually far from it. POOR. Quality. Don't go here unless you don't care for your car. Coming here was a HUGE mistake: I brought my 2017 GTR here because I got into an accident and my front bumper got messed up. (My car is also Wrapped). Francis assured me that he was going to get me a new front bumper, and wrap my car back to how it was before the accident. He got me a new front bumper which took WEEKS to get here, and then he had to paint it to match my car color, which he did a HORRIBLE HORRIBLE job. Just look at the photos I'm going to attach in this review to see how HORRIBLE the paint job is. So after I pointed out the bad paint job, he apologizes and is going to fix it. And assures he will take care of it personally. I come back to inspect and yeah, he took care of the problems but still, wasn't how my car looked when I bought it. Now all he needs to do to finish my car is the wrap. After all this I asked him to give me cash so I can wrap my car somewhere else and he refused. He told me he already paid his wrapping company for the wrap job. So ok I let him wrap my car. Took about two weeks just to wrap my car. While my car was in the shop they never updated me on my car status, I always had to call and ask about it. One day the girl in the front desk even called me to tell me my car was ready for pick up and it wasn't even wrapped yet. My car was two colors and she thought it was done? Anyways, finally took my car home and right away I notice the wrap is not good at all, it was already peeling off. I decided not to go back and complain because dealing with this shop and Francis was a nightmare. I just told myself I will re wrap my car next year because I wanted to change my wrap color anyway. SO HERE WE ARE. 2019. I go to take my car to my Original wrap guy. He takes off the front bumper wrap and notices the paint peeling off with the wrap that Francis did. GREAT! The nightmare continues... I trusted Francis with my insurance job to fix my car after I got into an accident, NOW I have to pay some one else to fix my car for what FRANCIS DID. Out of MY own pocket. Thanks Francis! Please see the pictures of the paint after Donlysons wrap was taken off. In Conclusion, don't trust Francis with your car. He seems like a nice guy and uses his words to convince you he knows what he's doing but DON'T trust him. All he cares about is making money off the insurance job because I know he made ALOT of money off me. I never even got a receipt of what he did on my car and how much it cost which I asked for several times. I'm happy with his work and work depends on the availability of the parts for accident related issues. My car took 3weeks b.c my car had special order parts typically expect it 2-3weeks. I can agree one some of the lower rstijg reviews on paint chipping but I would personally take the time to bring it back. Francis: He's a very kind and helpful Owner. One word "Stellar!". Ever since I was a child I've been around cars and have seen a great deal of body shops with my dad and as an adult having my own cars(kids). Never have I found a Body Shop that has done quality work like this. I took my 300C SRT-8 aka "Zeus" after being hit on the rear driver side. Our lawyers assistant referred us to Donylson because of the great work they do with cars, PLUS she said they have won awards for their cars. Perfect place I thought for such a pedigree. Impressions: An indoor Body Shop with plastered articles of their work in featured magazines, and an office filled with 3ft trophies! Yup I am definitely in the right place! Staff: The owner, Francis was the first person to greet us at the door. Great guy, super friendly and most importantly knows his stuff. Toured us around the shop and showed us several cars he was working on for the coveted SEMA convention in Vegas. Turns out he was the original all steel wide body fabricator! Given his talents I couldn't wait to see how my car would turn out. Btw he told me he takes his time to do the job right. Words I totally agree with especially when painting/fixing cars. Work: After 3 weeks of waiting got the call to pick him up. I pulled up to see him parked shining like a NEW CAR! It looked as if the whole car was repainted but really it was a section of the rear and bumper that had only been repainted! He was fully detailed inside and out! He explained to me that he had cleaned the entire body removing all the contaminants in the paint, a procedure he does for all the show cars. Never in the history of dealing with auto body shops have I been blown away by the quality of workmanship they have put into my car. Paint looked like it came from the manufacture itself. Conclusion: There is no doubt that I've found the place that knows what their doing. I have already decided that all my cars and my families cars will be exclusively coming here. As for those 1 star ratings people, absolutely Bull****. Those people should of called Maaco for a cheap fast job because obviously they could care less what their car looks like. They found more damage than the insurance estimated damage (of course they dont want to pay more!). When they are done with the car it looks like nothing happened all the fender, bumper, hood and trunk line up evenly (the car was hit on the front side and got rear ended). I was in a hit-and-run incident which ruined my whole front bumper when I brought my car to Donlyson. Francis and the rest of the team went above and beyond with helping me with the rental car, and also dealing with my insurance company after finding additional damage! It took a week for them to replace the hood, front bumper, and fenders. They did an amazing job and even detailed and waxed my car when they were finished! This shop will make you never consider another because of the detail and time they take to make your car look like nothing has ever happened to it. I've had 2 cars repaired by Francis and they came out amazing! The whole left side of my Infiniti G35 was smashed in to the point I couldn't open the doors. When I got my car back, it was like brand new.. As if I just dropped it off for an extensive detailing. You would never know the damage done because of how good of a job he does. Today I picked up my Honda Accord because it pretty much had a permanent "mustache" on the hood. When I saw it, the it was a clean job. The paint was great, the dent and scratches were gone.. I was not surprised when he called me yesterday that my car is ready for pick up today. I have been a customer of Donlyson Auto Concept for 8 years and Francis has always been reliable and honest. His workmanship in my previous car is excellent, same with my current one He said he did not want me to spend more money in car rental so he made sure my car would be ready in three days. I got my car repaired a couple months ago before the holidays and even though the shop was busy they finished my car ahead of schedule. They helped me with everything! Helped get my rental while my car was in the shop. Francis made getting in that car accident much less stressful for me. Took my car in for a front & rear bumper re-spray. This took one week. Once the car was "ready", I went to go pick it up. But to my dismay, both of the car's bumpers' paint were completely mismatched. Francis admits that this was a mistake. (Why'd they call me to let me know that the car was ready when it wasn't?) He offers to fix this & offered to paint my new side skirts for free. Big mistake on my part. Get the car back one week later and all is well. So it seems. Fast forward 3 days: The skirts were incorrectly installed. He fixes this by basically glueing the skirts onto the car. Fast forward another 2 weeks, the clear coat on both side skirts was peeling off completely. I go see Francis & show him the peeling clear coat. Dude says that it's not clear coat, but the film that was covering the skirts. Wait, what? You're telling me that the skirts were covered in film, but you primered and painted over film? (this is flat out lie because there was no such film covering the skirts. They were ready to paint from the factory.) Anyway, he continues to insult my intelligence by lying to me about the "film". I asked him this: If that is in fact film, then how's it possible that you painted over the film, yet the film that you painted over is magically able to peel off ABOVE the layers of paint? You supposedly painted over the film remember, not under it. That was the final straw. Francis offers to fix the side skirts by painting the peeling sides with some kind of undercoating. Thanks but no thanks. Had I known that their shoddy work would've shone so brightly this time, I'd have never gone back to them. I cannot in good faith recommend this place to anyone who loves automobiles. Never again. This establishment deserves ZERO STARS. read more
