I found that he had broken the kitchen faucet (and then written it up on the report as requiring repair). In addition there were several support beams in the attic that had been broken that it appears he attempted to use as a ladder to view some small holes that had been there since the structure was built - he did not mention at all that he had broken/damaged the support beams in his attempt to review these. Also in the attic he broke several of my storage shelves & personal items were on the ground as a result. I was not impressed with his treatment of my home during my inspection, as additional work was required just to bring it back to the state it was in prior to his arrival. While his inspection did seem thorough, he also brought up many things that were not truly issues - a properly installed gas meter & external outlet covers that are covered to code were recommended to have additional covering 'just in case', however these things were minor inconveniences compared to coming in and damaging things in the home that were fully functional prior to his arrival.

He gave us a 49 page overview of the prospective house we were purchasing, with tips on what needed to be addressed immediately and what should be looked at over time. During the inspection, he gave me an excellent verbal overview of the house to prepare me for what he would write in the inspection document, which answered a lot of questions I would have had if I had just received the report. Highly recommend this excellent professional who was prompt, thorough, and made us feel confident in understanding the purchase we were making.

Upon further inspection from Schaal Heating and Cooling, a week later following his report, there is absolutely NO evidence of backdraft or the issues he was citing. DO NOT hire this company!…read more We chose Wiemann based on recommendations from our realtor and others who said they were very thorough. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. We purchased our home largely because the inspection they performed came back clean. Just DAYS after closing, we started experiencing major foundational issues--with water literally pouring into the basement. We've had four separate basement and foundation experts come out, and every single one said the issues should have been caught during inspection. We now need $30,000 in foundation repairs. On top of that, our AC unit is too close to the gas line, which is not up to state code and also should have been flagged. We've tried reaching out via email, phone, and text--and have received no response to remedy the issues. Extremely disappointed and frustrated. This inspection will cost us tens of thousands of dollars and enormous stress. Avoid Wiemann at all costs.
