Hard to know where to start.... the hotel being run down is the least of your concerns (old…read morefurniture, scratched desk, dark hallways, etc.). The room smelled. And it was HOT despite it being October and cool outside. Like, freaking HOT. The AC ran the heat in my room and my coworkers' rooms - I guess the AC is turned off this time of year but ... holy crap. HOT.
So, I opened the window, only to realize there was construction going on outside my room ALL NIGHT LONG. So, I closed the window, baking in the heat, and could still hear the construction. Loud AF. Ok, so that's beyond the hotel's control. However, my coworker arrived in the early afternoon after a red eye flight, tried to nap and couldn't due to ... hotel construction. She asked to be moved, and they had nothing else.
Then, when we were checking out, I realized I left my key in the room. And they wanted to charge me five euros for not having it. Seriously.
Final insult? The elevator to the basement / parking garage was broke, so we had to carry our heavy luggage down a few flights of UNLIT stairs.
If I could give them zero stars, I would. WORST HOTEL I'VE EVER STAYED AT BY FAR.
