This review is a very difficult one for me to write. Back in Sept of 09 I went to see Dr. Hart to…read morehave a regular adjustment. The next night I ended up in the ER with what they said was a severe migraine. That was a Tuesday, and I remember pretty much nothing until that Friday when the discharged me home in just as much pain as when they admitted me. Nothing helped the pain. I couldn't even stand up to walk, couldn't do anything for myself because I was so dizzy. A week later the headache got considerable worse and once again I was rushed to the ER, this time by ambulance because I was at home, not at work. This seemed to me to only take about 20 minutes, in actuality it took over 3 hours. I once again remembered pretty much nothing except what I was told. In short I woke 10 days later in the ICU at St. Louis University Hospital. They had airlifted me from the ER in Hannibal to SLU. I had a stroke caused by double vertebral artery dissection from having my neck adjusted just a short time before. I have since tried to pursue a malpractice case against Dr. Hart, but since I am (THANKFULLY) pretty much OK and I suffered no long term disabilities, no one will pursue a lengthy case against her. Even though it is written in my charts from SLU that this is definitely what caused my stroke. I had to have a hole drilled into my skull to relieve the pressure in my pressure in my brain, I had an angiogram, numerous MRIs and CAT scans....all at only 34 years old. I would definitely NOT recommend going here!!!

They combine the utmost kindness and tender care with a completely professional approach--and they are fabulous communicators! We hired them to provide daily companionship for an elderly relative who was in rehab after hip surgery. They just made everything go so smoothly and with a spirit of compassion and joy. They took the time to really get to know our loved one--and to be responsive to her needs on emotional and practical levels at once. They helped her regain her strength--and worked beautifully with the rehab people in helping her build confidence in her walking and other skills. They kindly took her to her doctor's and optometrist's appointments--and for lovely drives in the Alton area. They gave us daily updates about their activities--which were so well-conceived and fun always--and they adjusted their schedules to meet her needs. The owners of A Sacred Space, Cheri and Dean, and their team are just the most lovely and considerate people you could ever hope to know--and our family feels the deepest gratitude that they were there to provide cherishing care when it was most needed. They are the best!
