Anything related to Montecristo is completely absent from inventory, but a full line of EP Carrillo and Oliva offset that. You'll find something for sure. Prices are in line if not a little better than higher end places and drinks are reasonable as well. Atmosphere is mixed depending on time of day. At night it feels like you're sitting in the center of spring break Cancun with 6 night clubs of music bombarding you from every angle. That said, it's a tremendous people watching point. read more

The staff at Don Rey Cigars was very friendly and helpful when I visited their location at La Placita last night. I am an experienced smoker and was looking for something unique that perhaps I wouldn't find back home in Chicago. I enjoyed one of their house label coronas. Found it on yelp so walked over to see what it was about. They had a fair selection including their own Don Rey's. Had a great cigar and a few good rums. Everyone was friendly and felt like a good vibe. A little Cuba for sure. I bought a box of Don Rey's to take home and keep the vibe going. I will return when time permits. Very cool place. The place had the most chill vibe. My wife and I sat outside on a nice breezy night, enjoys a couple of glasses of wine while enjoying the smooth sounds of the live band. They played mostly jazz tunes and it was great. The waitress was also very friendly and accommodating. She was also helpful with her recommendations of wine. We had a very nice time. Stumbled upon this cigar shop and bar while in the La Placita. I went to the cigar shop on a Friday night. The shop is small, but it is the place to be at night over the weekend for local cigar connoisseurs. There is not much seating inside, but there is much more seating outside in front of the shop.Though small, the shop has a huge selection of cigars. I was in the mood for Puerto Rican cigars and they had several. I recommend the vanilla infused Puerto Rican cigar. Interestingly, the shop provides in house complimentary cutters but not lighters. I thought that was odd but luckily I had my own (but they were kind enough to refill my lighter). Because I had my own, several people asked if they could use it which was completely fine because it facilitated multiple conversations with multiple people. Everybody there is friendly. Everyone smiles, laughs, and do not take themselves seriously. The shop was a nice, intimate social hub. read more
