Not too creamy, but the crispy pancetta/bacon was full of flavor. It was a very good late lunch. The service was a little slow but understandable since a lot of places close around 14:30 and open up again in the evening about 18:00. They were extremely busy. We ate in the air conditioned inside area and I could see the chefs whipping up the wonderful food.

Here you will be able to enjoy GF pasta, pizza and bread! (If you mention that you will be needing GF when booking your table, the restaurant will be able to offer even more alternatives on the menu.) After having mentioned that I needed GF food the manager made sure that I got a pasta that was both GF and fodmap adjusted. What I received was a pasta cooked to perfection, placed inside a big bowl made of parmesan! I have honestly not had anything come close to this pasta dish before or after! The rest of my company had fish and pasta (non GF) and they were also amazed over the quality of the food they got. We did not have any room left for desserts, but did have their own brewed limoncello and grappa which both were real good. If you are to visit only one restaurant in Santa Teresa di Gallura as GF - make sure that it is this one or you will have missed out on some seriously good food!

The menu featured a variety of local seafood and house made pasta. For me, the standout was the local specialty of fregola made with saffron and the local thin bread baked with rosemary (carasau). My husband's appetizer portion of seafood stew had oysters, clams, langoustines...so good. Our host picked out a nice bottle of local Vermintino that complimented our lunch well. We were finished off with house pours of mirto, the local liquer made from the myrtle plant.

Our hotel had a habit of liking to send us to their brother's, cousin's and sister's restaurants and always deterred us from going anywhere they didn't want us to by complaining about how far it was. On a map, Porto Rotondo said it was about 40-45 mins from Porto Cervo where we stayed but it was really a quick and beautiful 20-25 minute drive. Don't be dissuaded - it's worth the drive from anywhere in Costa Smeralda.
