Yes, it was hot. The restaurant is in the courtyard of an old farmhouse .. an awning protects you from the direct sun, but it's August -- we melted. A fan was brought out, which helped, and there was a nice cross breeze.
Yes, there are flies. It's summer and if it wasn't flies, it would be yellow jackets (yup, had those too).
We started with the caprese, done traditionally in slices. Both of us had a pasta .. me the sardo ragu, he the chinghale. Both absolutely superb.
