I have eaten at La Guarecita Tostadores de Café y Cacao approximately seven times over my three…read morevisits to Morelia. I have always been impressed by the quality and value of the food, as well as the delightful piano music in the mornings.
Unfortunately, my most recent visit was very different. I ordered a latte and a pastry, but the pastry contained several long black hairs. When I asked to speak with the manager, she came to my table and, rather than apologizing, simply informed me that I would only be charged for the latte.
What disappointed me most was not the hair itself, but the response. A sincere apology and a gesture of goodwill would have been appropriate. Given the circumstances, I believe the entire bill should have been waived. Instead, the interaction felt dismissive and indifferent to a legitimate customer concern.
This was a very disappointing experience at a café I have previously enjoyed and recommended. I hope management places greater emphasis on customer service and professionalism in the future.
