5 stars simply because this was the only American restaurant that I saw near my rental house. For anybody who has never heard of Ajijic, Mexico it has become an amazing destination, but if you aren't fluent in Spanish, you will run into issues! Tens of thousands of Canadians have retired here, but they all had to learn Spanish to survive in the area. We are on Lake Chapala, approx. 15 miles west of Guadalajara. There is no such thing as a McDonalds, or a Taco Bell here, maybe somewhere in Guadalajara if you head inland towards the plaza, but absolutely zero American restaurants where I am at in Ajijic. So, to find a Dominos and taste that familiar pizza taste and smell was refreshing. Its no big deal to be out of the states for a few weeks and not experience anything Americanized, but when you go months, you do start and crave certain things again. There is now a Walmart here, crazy!! A whole cake cost me under $2 U.S. the other day, in America the same cake is $20 bucks, and down here in Mexico, not only does "EVERYTHING" taste 100 times better, there are no preservatives on anything and every bite is 100% organic, even a slice of pie or cake is less sweet and so much better. Mexico has spoiled me for life! The only odd thing is to see a whore house across the street, besides from that, I really love the area and the people have been a breath of fresh air. Because there are no preservatives and nothing is frozen, it is hard to describe the difference between a Dominos in America and a Dominos in Mexico, I can tell you 100% that there is a difference! Especially with the cheeses and the meats. read more
