If you read the one star reviews of Domestica on here you'll see some recurring themes - terrible communication, no callbacks, misleading and outright false information given. That's absolutely been my experience when over a 12-week period they failed to fix the malfunctioning fridge they sold me despite countless phone calls from me, countless promises from them and endless buck passing to the fridge manufacturer. I ended up having to do Domestica's job for them by phoning the fridge manufacturer myself - a process that took several days as they are in the Domestica mould of ignoring the customer and refusing to take responsibility for their own mistakes. When, after pressure from my letting agent Robert Aston, they finally replaced the fridge it was with an inferior model - a move that really sums up their contempt for the customers. Domestica is a spares, repairs and appliances shop. It doesn't have the same attraction as the nightlife does to those who are from outside Moseley, but it is appreciated by locals. On the day I needed some, ahem, vacuum cleaner bags. This is hardly retail therapy, so what do I want from the experience? Simply this: The right bags, at a reasonable price, with a friendly service, and the re-assurance that the sales person is knowledgeable enough so that I had the confidence in him that he bags I bought were the right ones. And I get it. You can't ask for much more than that! But don't trust them with repairs, or your time. I 'phoned in for someone to fix my washing machine two weeks ago. I've waited in on three separate days now when they've said they'd be coming. They've said they'd call to give specific times, but they haven't. Not a mention of sorry!!! Two weeks without a washing machine and having to do handwashing. Terrible customer service, so I can't recommend them. 18 months later... It seems I'm not alone in finding Domestica to be shoddy in their timings and arrangements for appointments. A friend has just let me know that she's having similar problems: Vague times, no-shows, and general flippancy. Appalling company. Booked an all day appointment to repair a washing machine through Curry's (because they can't possibly give you an idea of when they will get to you) and on the day, they didn't turn up and just sent a text message saying they couldn't make it. No call to apologise, no offering to come at a convenient time to make up for it, just a text message mid morning on the day they were meant to arrive, after I'd already taken a day off work and it was too late to change it. I've been waiting 2 weeks for them to rearrange and have been promised numerous times "a call back by the end of the day to confirm an appointment" that has never arrived. I've now insisted currys use a different company because this is is a shocking business. See all the other same reviews. Avoid at all costs. read more

I've had my dishwasher for less than two years and it is still under manufacturers warranty. I phoned Currys where I purchased the item who booked me in for a repair with domesrica. Little did I know this was a back street dump of a shop, absolutely disgusting. They have failed to turn up twice now after booking a day off work and another visit booked for a Saturday. No one has the curtesy to contact you to explain why no one has turned up for the repair. Every time I call I'm told I will have to wait for someone to contact me with a new time. Don't use this company they are a waste of space and looking at the state of the shop probably would not do a good repair anyway. read more

Worst company ever! Do not trust these people with your time or expect any politeness from them. Waited over two weeks for my oven to be repaired and twice the engineer never turned up and twice the engineer was over an hour late with no knowledge of the time that was arranged. Never go with these people you will never have an apology and will be talked to like its your fault. This company should be shut down! I made an appointment with this company to come and repair my oven. I paid the £89 call out fee up front as requested. My 1st apt was for Friday 14 November 2014 am as no-one had been by 2pm I rang and was told that the apt had been changed to Saturday 15 November 2014 pm (1-6) I was not informed of this change so I lost a day from work. My husband took the Saturday off and by 5pm no one had showed up so I rang and was told engineers work until 7pm on Saturday. I am writing this at 10.30 am on Monday 17 November and contacted the emergency number, as I couldn't get through to 449 2400 number and was told the engineer should have called out on Saturday and they would look into why he didn't. I'm not very hopeful of getting a satisfactory reply. I have read other reviews and it seems I'm not alone in the shoddy service this company are paid to provide. I will be taking this up with the company that recommend Domestica to do their repairs, they need to have a rethink. read more
