I booked a standard double room and was put in a lovely room overlooking the bridge and river with beautiful double doors and a Juliet balcony. Another plus was the service of all the hotel staff during our stay, everyone was great from check-in to check-out. Which brings me to breakfast; although a budget hotel the breakfast was fantastic: multiple cheese options, fresh fruit, croissant, many juices, ect. The only negative aspect to staying here was the location. It is an easy enough walk across the bridge to old town, and Bayonne is small so you can pretty much easily walk anywhere, but the neighborhood on the hotel's side of the bridge is a bit blighted and depressing. Also I did see a few unsavory characters hanging around the waterfront, but they did not seem to be bothering anyone. Parking is at the train station parking lot, for which you will need to stop at the hotel first and get the parking pass from reception. The parking garage was a bit old and dodgy looking, but our car was fine overnight (we did not leave anything in it). I would definitely recommend this hotel, but not its location. If I were to stay in Bayonne again I'd stay in old town.

The hostel has a security code out in the front and an elevator (HALLELUJAH). There's free computers to use, a nice little living room and a kitchen for you to utilize. They also provide rental surf boards and body boards, which is super nice! The free breakfast is pretty poor..but hey I shouldn't complain, its free. It consisted of milk and corn flakes, packaged mini croissants and muffins, toast and some spread. I would highly recommend just going to the bakery next door - BEST pastry shop in town!! The rooms were decent, and the restrooms were clean most of the time. Some of the showers didn't have hot water, so I would check before I hop in. My only 2 annoyances with the hostel was first, the map on Hostelworld.com was wrong. It took me 1/2 hour to realize that and it took me on a irritable journey around the Old Town with all my heavy luggage. I think the map was of their other hostel.. Second annoyance was the extremely long lines at the front desk. I think they should have 2 staff personnel there when it gets busy. Some people waiting in line just have simple questions and it's annoying to wait so long to get a simple answer!

A twenty minute walk from old town or 10 minutes by the frequent 5 or 25 buses, which stop right outside the hotel and cost only 1.45. Plus it's less than ten minutes from the beach. at 150 euros a night it seemed a like a reasonable deal considering San Sebastian is such a popular town. Completely recommended! The rooms are clean and comfortable. They are on the small side but this is Europe so it is to be expected. Staff were friendly and efficient. The hotel is very close to Ondarreta beach. The Concha beach is a little further away but it is still walkable. The Old Town is about 20 or 30 minutes away on foot but there are buses if you'd rather take those.

We both had closets and we could shut the door between the two areas when we needed privacy. We stayed in Room 111 which had a balcony with chairs and a fantastic view of the water and the promenade. The windows were also fantastic. When they were open, we could hear the lively noise of the promenade but when they were closed we couldn't hear a thing. The bathroom was also very nice with a bidet attachment to the toilet. The toilet even had a motion-activated night light. The shower was a little difficult to use without flooding the bathroom. The breakfast buffet was outstanding with lots of pinxtos, fruit, hot food, cold food, and pastries. My friend is a vegetarian and she found plenty to eat. One night we ordered room service and the food arrived within 20 minutes and was very good. The front desk people were also very helpful answering questions we had. The only negative was that we couldn't get the coffee maker in our room to work.
