The hygienist is great. Front of the house thumbs down. Also did not sanitize chairs in waiting room after someone sat in them. Covid 19?

Can't give them a zero stars rating because it is not an option. DO NOT GO THERE if you value your family. Inept dentist. To say the least.

I am a dental professional, and based on my experience, I would not recommend Liz, Dental…read moreHygienist, at Great Expression middletown, New York). After my cleaning, I experienced multiple issues that I had never had before. The treatment caused discomfort and complications rather than improving my oral health. Proper dental hygiene care should leave a patient feeling healthier, not dealing with ongoing problems. For anyone considering care at this location, I strongly advise exercising caution. My professional opinion is to stay away.

Beware. I scheduled an appointment for my foster child on 4/3. I explained that the child was…read moreseeing a dentist in the area where his Facility was and that in continuity of care he need work performed here with us as we are not traveling 3 hours for an appointment. Of course! This was not a problem! They want my business! The person that scheduled the appointment took the Offices information and advised that they would contact the office on my behalf to verify the procedure that the child needed and obtain records. I didn't think twice to check in or confirm, shame on me for that. A week prior to the appointment Great Expressions did nothing but call and text me reminders that even when you confirm they continue to spam you about. The morning of they called again to remind me. When the second phone call came in, I picked up to tell them I knew. What I didn't expect was that the staff member was calling me to tell me the visits wasn't covered. She told me she wasn't sure what he needed but it would cost anywhere from $300-$500. If you are to sure what he needs how are you able to quote this and how do you know if it is covered? I told her another staff member was going to obtain the X-rays and notes to schedule the procedure. She claimed I didn't even know what he was being scheduled therefore I can't be upset that insurance is not covering the appointment. When I tried to explain he had a check up within the last two months at the other dentist. Miss Rude Pants went on to tell me that the location isn't the reason the insurance would bill me. It's because he was seen within the last 6 months. I told her I knew that and I wasn't sure what exactly the visit was for because the first person I scheduled with made it clear she would get the records and schedule accordingly. Miss Rude Pants was so smug and condescending. Apparently they scheduled him for a cleaning. This was never the conversation on 4/3. He needed to meet a local to us Dentist as he needed work done. The person I spoke to today was rude and nasty. I called the original provider and they had no problems supplying me with the records and advised Great Expressions never reached out. I called back GE and got Miss Rude Pants who wouldn't let me speak, talk loudly over me and put me on hold and never came back. The Office Manager later called me to remedy. She was sincere and apologetic. She offered empathy to the mistake and owned that I should have never been told what I was told and that the mistake started on April 3 in the original scheduling. The manager was able to get me this afternoon but not for the work the child needs despite being provided the exam notes and X-rays. I needed a new consultation for them to determine that that was what the child needs and then to schedule again after the initial. This consultation to be billed to me because the insurance won't accept another check up for one prior to 6 months per the manager. Essentially, even with the information- the result was the same. Despite what you asked us, we will schedule how we feel and if you get hit with charges because he was seen within 6 months - you have to pay out of pocket. I called around and found other practices wiling to accept the last providers notes and X-rays and schedule based off the needs of the child. When I called back GE, by fate I got Miss Rude Pants again, who advised I would now be billed for cancelling the newest appointment as it was the same day. Thankfully she spoke to the office manager who was willing to waive the fee. I was told I was lucky as that isn't their policy. Thanks, Rudy. Horrible service, horrible guest relations and horrible experience. The office does not care about the patient needs. I would not recommend or use them.

I cannot speak highly enough about the level of professionalism, compassion, and kindness we received from this dentist today my son had an Abscess on his front tooth that had to be removed, they had to numb the tooth and pull it. That's after they had to have a cavity filled. I don't know if anybody else has children that are terrified of dentists but his doctor put on a local anesthetic to numb the gums then with whatever amazing needle like device they used, they proceeded to remove the tooth and my son did not cry or scream, and was not bothered in any way whatsoever. I've never witnessed anything like that in pediatric dentistry. These dentists have always been amazing since we've been going there, but I feel today was there Magnus opus they are perfect mix of artist, scientist, dentist, and Wizard and that is the only way I can explain it. If you have kids that are afraid of dentist bring them here from their standard cartoon videos on the ceiling to the well described, locked toy chest. They can only open once they've successful completed their procedure. I almost feel that there are as much psychologists as they are dentist. Bring your difficult kids here you will not regret it I promise.

I'm uncertain about whether my experience is the result of someone having an off day... or if like…read moreso many other environments as of late, finance dictates the experience. I've always experienced exceptional care and kindness in my experiences there after seeking a trauma informed dentist for my child. I have PTSD and have experienced ongoing hardship... seeing my child fearful in a dentist office is enough to trigger me which prompted me Eli seek and find this provider in the first place. Not long ago, I had temporarily lost my insurance due to a job change and had little recourse but to ensure the most rigid of dental routines at home till I could get back in the office as soon as I had insurance again. After missing some check ups, last week we had an awesome visit... My daughter's oral hygiene was complemented by the doctor and hygienist - both were surprised at the degree of high level maintenance we ensured without scheduled cleanings. A reapplication of sealant was recommended (which I'm an advocate for), and we set an appointment for next week. At the time I was told all would be covered by my insurance. Today, someone named Cindy was calling to let me know my dental coverage provider deemed sealants for a patient my daughter's age medically unnecessary and that there'd be an out of pocket expense that would be at a reduced cost of $300. Before deciding to pay hundreds out of pocket, I asked Cindy to please verify whether or not there is a medical need for this treatment before expensing funds that are needed for other basic necessities at the moment. Upon her return call she left a message asking me to call back instead of simply responding to the inquiry. I stopped my day to return the call only to have her begin to reiterate the preventative concern that was previously discussed. I confirmed my understanding of the previously relayed content and that my need was to understand if there was a current medical necessity that needed to be addressed... as that is unfortunately the reality of how I need to prioritize expenses at the moment. After expressing the concern, I was sternly and literally told "... well I'm going to have to write that down." . Somewhat taken aback, I said I'm not sure what that means and was told the annotation is to document my choosing not to follow to this recommendation... the tone with which it was said was not only unkind, but in my opinion conveyed an implication of negligent disregard on my part. I cannot fathom the purpose of such a comment. Based off the concern evoked by her response, I again indicated I want to ensure I have a clear understanding that we are all in agreement that upon evidence and evaluation that there are no cavities to be addressed... only to be told that if I "want it addressed as a cavity that can be done"... Baffled, I was honest and said I don't understand what that means either (mitigating increasing anxiety at this point)... I was then told that I could have my daughters teeth drilled as though there were cavities... have a filling done to reduce surface crevices and then sealed afterwards. I was quite shocked. My child has impeccable dental hygiene because she's fearful of even the sound of a dental drill and I took her there to ensure such a positive experience that she'd be motivated to exact good habits, thus eliminating any future need for the drills she fears. After being made uncomfortable by the terse exchange I declined further engagement. I still have a return visit in six months because I love the team that provides actual care and the Dr. has thus far been someone I trust... but this experience left me feeling unsure of how that will go and I'm concerned by being treated as though I'd done something wrong. As a single parent, in this economy, with a disability, no support and endless challenges to mitigate...dispensable income is non existent. The caller seemed very out of touch with this reality faced by so many and made me feel bad and borderline negligent in the manner in which she chose to address me and my honesty regarding my finances... I'm hoping it was just a bad day (which we all have)... but I could sure do without the negativity and non verbal indicators judgement that trauma survivors are hyper aware of in general but especially in the course of my work day. This persons communication style and demeanor are not reflective of what drew us to their care in first place and I'm hoping it's not pervasive in other areas of the business when we return.

This facility is FULL of BRIGHT, SUPER friendly staff from the receptionist and nurses to the Dentists! Every single staff member showed off their beautiful smiles and instantly made our daughter feel comfortable during her first ever visit to a dentist. Dr Yoomi Heo and her assistants were fantastic with making Kayla feel comfortable and excited about her visit to the dentist office. Kayla had a general check-up, x-rays taken and plaque removed today and the way the staff at 'Lots of Sunshine Dentistry' introduced her to the tools and procedures instantly made her feel secure about the visit and actually made her enjoy it so much she wanted to come back again tomorrow. When Kayla first sat down in the chair, the dentist explained how everything worked and gave Kayla a small prize for doing so well with having her x-rays taken. After the entire procedure the dentist rewarded her again for a job well done by giving her a token to their toy capsule vending machine! The facility is very well kept, staff very professional and courteous, and best of all they had plenty of parking. If you're looking for an excellent Pediatric Dentist, this most certainly is the spot! Thank you Dr Heo and staff for excellent service! We're so glad we found this office on the first shot and we're proud to say that Kayla has found her personal Dentist for life!
