Dolphin contacted me to say that port security had selected my container for X-Ray, and to pay an additional charge of £50. I was promised the supporting documentation for this charge, but never received it.
Dolphin held my goods hostage until I paid, also warning that delay would cause additional storage costs. I continued to ask for supporting documentation (how do I know this is not extortion?) but never received any.
Then my shipment sat in storage for many, many weeks, until double the estimated delivery time was reached. I wrote lots of emails and made almost 30 calls to Dolphin during this time to try get things moving, all ignored.
Finally, a truck arrives at 9.30pm at night, and the driver, who speaks no English, is reluctant to unload. We did most of it ourselves. We were expecting a moving company with two crew to place our goods where directed in our home, not a single, surly, unhelpful driver.
Then the driver deposited two fork-lift pallets and all the wrapping material in my driveway, and refused to take it away. Finally, after 3 calls to his dispatch in Poland - who were very rude - and a lot of hand waving, he finally clears my driveway.
In the weeks since then, I was promised a refund - and the X-Ray docs, of course - but have received absolutely nothing.
With Dolphin, you can expect surprise extra charges without documentation, your goods to be held hostage (possibly charging you for the storage!) until you pay these extortionate fees, double the delivery time than offered, and delivery at night by an unprofessional subcontractor, to carry your goods yourself, and be left with a pile of rubbish on your driveway when done. read more
