What a lovely unexpected find as I was exploring Main Street. Dolly's is a super cute and very inviting little bookshop. It looks to be carefully curated with something for everyone. My wife and I have been going to the candy shop attached to the bookstore for 20 years. It was fantastic when it was the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. We went there again for our anniversary and we found out they are no longer associated with them. We still thought the candy would be good. Boy were we wrong. It was disgusting. We bought a lot, as we usually do, and have thrown most of it away. Much of it was old, stale and the taste was really bad. How do you mess up chocolate covered Oreos??? Somehow they did. We bought a pack of 5 and only ate one because they were so bad. Even our kids (who love sweets) didn't eat their candy. Really sad to see 20 years of dating and marriage memories end because they ended their association with Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory for reasons I would assume only have to do with money. Unfortunately I have a feeling you will make a lot less money once everyone finds out how poor the quality of your treats are now. I know for sure, we won't be back. read more

This is the cutest little bookstore in Park City next to the PC Museum and ice cream shop! They have an amazing selection of books from every genre as well as Knick knacks and utah specific items. I love stopping here every time I'm on Main Street in PC. The prices are typical for an indie bookstore and the service is great. read more

Bad service at the confectionary. My wife was overcharged for a large bag of dog treats when she bought just a single treat. We both called and the confectionary does not answer the phone. I eventually got in touch with the bookstore and was told the manager of the confectionary was unavailable but would call me the next day. 5 days later I've still heard nothing. Fun bookstore with a good variety of books for all ages. I think they did a very nice job of organizing everything where it all made sense and would be easy to find what you are looking for. I came in here because I saw a book in their display that was Halloween themed. I was hoping for a larger section dedicated to Halloween/special spooky material, but there wasn't many. Didn't end up buying anything to take back home with me, but I could definitely see myself hanging out here if I lived close by. read more

I love me a small, independent bookstore and Dolly's hits just right. Sure, it's on the main street in a touristy location, but it does not have a super touristy feel to it. There are two entrances so you can pop in and out in different places. It's not the largest bookstore, but it has a modest selection of books ranging from fantasy fiction to cook books and most things in between. You'll also find an assortment of other trinkets such as notebooks, calendars and even candles. I'm a sucker for those things-I love to look at all the things and admire the unique gift items. I heard a lot about the store cats, but didn't see any myself. It might have been too busy in there, so I'll have to return on a quiet mid-week day. read more

A quant bookstore on Main Street in Park City, this location doesn't disappoint. There is a huge range of books to find for all ages and interests. There are also lots of cute toys, notebooks, cards and miscellaneous things as well. I didn't have to interact much, but I have heard the service here is rather lacking from several people. I love this bookstore very much but the 2 women working at the front were very rude and unprofessional. They were giving everyone dirty looks and talking poorly about the customers. I didn't feel welcome so we left. I'm hoping this was a "one off" experience. I went in expecting a charming independent bookstore--only to find a place propped up by its decor and a lazy staff bobbling along. I picked up what looked like a beautiful coffee-table book, but once I got home, the binding lay half-detached between the cover and page one. I returned it and instead of empathy, I got a lecture about their "48-hour policy." The staff literally accused me of tearing it myself--despite the obvious flaw. Isn't that the store's job to ensure product quality? And don't even get me started on their ice cream service. We were first in line, clearly waiting to order, yet they skipped over us entirely--twice--serving three other families before even acknowledging we existed. No apology, no explanation, just rude indifference. I would never return. If this business wants to stay one, I HIGHLY recommend fixing the staffs' attitudes. read more

Very cute and quaint bookstore attached to a chocolate shop. Lots of different genres available in small, very neatly organized sections. Prices are average. Workers are friendly and helpful. (My favorite employee is the sleepy cat ‍). However the best thing about this shop is that they support local authors and host book signings every few months! Go elsewhere for ice cream. Service was poor. I got in the ice cream with others in my party. They were served. When it was my turn I was told I had to wait in line with every one buying candy. I waited in that long line and was told to go to the ice cream line. When I got in the ice cream line again after others were served, I was told to go to the candy line. I left. They have a very low selection of ice cream currently as they were out of about half the flavors. Went into this cute bookstore last Saturday with my parents and we had the best time! While its cozy affect and extensive selection of books drew us in, the wonderful ladies working there were the reason we stayed. Kenzie and Michaela were incredibly kind, and helped our every need: even when the store was jam packed full of people. This is a really cool bookstore that I stumbled across walking down Main Street in Park City. They are very friendly and it's not very big but they have many unique books for kids and adults. I saw old classic books and new contemporary books. They also had a cat that was sprawled out on the couch. The vibe is super relaxed and an eat place to explore. read more

Good bookstore with plenty for all ages. Small, cozy, the type of book store you want to spend hours just checking every book at every aisle. In Main Street of Park City, I think this is the only place you can actually buy books (you can get souvenirs from this ski town as well, but for that you have plenty of competitors around). The funniest part is that I discovered this store by the captivating smell of chocolate and caramel coming from the attached chocolate factory (pretty open access from store to store). read more

I'm going to try to paint a picture using words, to describe Dolly's. Fitting, as it's a book store. For some of you reading, it's just going to fall flat. That's okay. Plenty of the reviews cover the basics: cute shop, cats, small, books, souvenirs. But for the rest of you, hopefully this strikes a chord. Here goes. Do you know someone who makes lists? You know the type--they carry with them a list of items they're on the lookout for, things they need to do, and yes, a list of book titles they keep their eyes open for while out shopping? Do you know them? They're fastidious, organized, fascinating, driven, and wonderful. They're typically the best gift-givers, too; they have their lists of birthdays and special occasions and they are always listening, so when you offhandedly remark that you used to listen to a certain record or something, they add it to their list, find it in an antique store, and your head explodes when they give it to you on your birthday. Do you know that person? This is for that person. This small, ecclectic, Main Street bookstore in a mountain town is where these people find harmonic resonance. You see, to everyone else (I fall in this category) it can almost seem overwhelming. I mean, there are gifts, and treats, and in such a small space you don't really get a huge variety of books, so we may go in and wander around, and love that there are cats to pet, and thumb through some books, and look longingly at the souvenirs or the handmade gifts. But we pop in, see if anything catches our fancy, and then we leave. To the this listmaking crew, Dolly's makes perfect sense. As they walk in, they pull out the list. Who's birthday is next month? What was the name of that book I was looking for? And they have purpose, and enjoy a place like this store so much more fully. They take advantage, fully. I was standing in Dolly's when I realized the power of the list. I realized this whole other side of a Park City experience. My eyes were opened, if just for a moment, of the possibility of living that life; or at least being near to it. I am not the list guy, and I still enjoyed the store. It's worth visiting, perusing, seeing what strikes your fancy. Maybe you're on a ski vacation and want to read by the fire at night, or grab a title for the flight home. Maybe you're just shopping for the day, and you want to see what treats there are inside, or are looking for a toy to keep the little ones entertained. You should definitely do that. But if you're one of those special list people, this is a stop you have to take. Don't be embarrassed; draw out the list from your purse or pocketbook, and see what treasures are under the X on that map. read more

In this place I found my signature piece that I look for on every trip - a new pendant to wear. It was in the counter at the register, a piece of silver with a drop of water etched into it. It's stunning. One of the feline residents was behind the register and I almost missed this beautiful fur baby, if s/he hadn't reached out for me as I was passing by. I love cats. read more

Whenever I shop at independent bookstores like this one I wonder why I ever spend money at the Borders and Barnes & Nobles of the world....can't beat the charm of this place. And the service! While browsing for a book for myself I watched one of the sales associates help a 14 yr old girl find a book that was right for her. I had no trouble finding books for myself, but I do have one little complain for Miss Dolly...a bigger chick lit section please for us gals who just want something light while on vacation. read more

Big Larry just loves Dolly's. Many people have covered most of the aspects of the store. So he will not bother you with the evidentiary data that says if you enter through the chocolate place you might not get to Dolly's as you will be in the most wonderful sugar coma. That said, I love to go to Dolly's once a week or so, pick up a couple of papers and then chat up the staff. Here is the amazing thing: they actually read. Can you believe it? I can only think of one other bookstore in the West where the staff reads and that is Vromans in Pasadena, CA. Worth a visit if you get in that area for the Rose Parade or whatever. The staff at Dolly's are a treasure for their knowledge of the books they carry and they have read, methinks, collectively, all the books on the shelves. I sometimes try to stump them: "Hey, I am looking for a book on non-Euclidian geometry and it's relationship to astral physics". The person says, "Sure, follow me to the non-Euclidean section and I'll show you our offerings. I personally like "astral Physics of the 16th century"". Swear. OK, so seriously, you can ask about most titles and they have an opinion. My eyes have been opened to books I would have never read had it not been for Liza and her wonderful staff. Read 'em up then join Larry's book club. read more

My favorite bookstore. We have been coming to Park City with our kids for 7 years, since my oldest was 5yrs old. This bookstore has something for everyone! The have amazing books that you will not find walking through the big bookstores. My kids have fallen in love with authors based on books they picked up here. What more can I ask for as a mom?!? They have plenty of amazing books for adults too. It's a wonder how they fit all the good stuff, for all ages, in this cozy spot. Do yourself a favor and carve out some time to spend here.
