There are a couple of Dolly Parton murals around Nashville, and this is one of them. And if you ask me, it's the best one! This mural, which depicts Dolly Parton sitting in a chair and reading to a baby, was created to honor the country singer's contributions to childhood literacy.
If you don't already know, Dolly Parton created the Imagination Library, a book gifting program that mails free books to children from birth until they begin school. How amazing is that? Dolly Parton is a saint, and every wall in Nashville should have Dolly painted on it, to be honest.
This particular public artwork is on the Hume-Fogg Magnet High School wall. It's a short walk to the Nashville Public Library, which seems appropriate. read more
