Most of us are probably familiar with the fact that spectacle (if not spectacular) 'bargains' can be found online but it's much more convenient, and face-friendly, to be able to try before you buy. I admire Saleem, the shop owner - a long established dispensing optician - for having the courage (and entrepreneurial/innovative spirit) to open this shop. His prices start (for complete specs) from a mere £45. There's plenty here that's stylish and pleasing to the eye (yup, I know, I'm in punning mode). I especially liked the more unusual - quite groovy - frames by American designer, Nicole Miller (sadly for my pocket, the most expensive in the store). The owner is helpful, patient, efficient, un-pushy and happy to order in your favourite/preferred frames, without obligation. Although he has the knowledge and qualifications, you'll need to come along armed with a copy of a recent sight test - before you order your specs - as there are no facilities to carry-out tests on the premises.

It…read morewas no good, the time had come, I had to be brave and venture forth into the wide world of spec-tacular exploration and vast expense, or do I just mean extortion? (Please note I'm not referring to one unique supplier/provider, as far as that factor is concerned!) Fortunately, I don't have to wear specs all the time - I alternate them with lenses - but when I do wear them I like them to be 'on the nose' and as alluring as possible. After trying several, I found a pair I fell in love with until it came to the price tag. They were stunners - a pair of Prada's latest and finest - mostly black, with a hint of orange trim and some subtle crystal detail on the sides. I didn't realise I'd need a mortgage consultation before I signed on the dotted line. The frames were a mere £345 (and that's before the lenses went in) I had a very helpful assistant who confirmed how well they suited me and told me he was sure they had been wrongly priced. He went to his colleague to check and she confirmed that was indeed the price - they were Swarovski crystals, after all! Sadly I had to decline the prospect of paying close to £500 for a beautiful new pair of specs, however gorgeous and tantalising. My quest continues

Purchased gucci glasses 2 months later nose pad came off took them to vision express who changed…read morewith there normal nose pad, I asked for a gucci one because my glasses are gucci , was told they only have there own ! So I have 1 gucci and 1 vision express one both different , called customer service to complain about putting there own one on and why should I pay for expensive glasses for Them to put a cheap nose pad on , if so I would have bought a cheaper pair ! 2 weeks later customer service still seeing if they can get gucci one ! I won't be using this company again !! You don't buy an expensive item to have cheap items added to it !! Avoid these rip off company .. I have spoken with Nathan in your customer service and 1 month later I am still waiting to hear if I can get the original gucci nose pads and not your own branded one , this is a trading standard issue because you make customers believe that they will be replaced with the same not the cheap nasty ones your company supplies ! So you reply saying contact us and yes I did and 1 month later still waiting !! Nathan must be a very good customer service agent !

Staff are helpful and friendly, they have made me feel so at ease that I have decided to trial contact lenses, something I was too scared to do previously.
