I have appreciated Dollar Tree for multiple reasons. I have been able to obtain good products at relatively reasonable costs. They have made checkout fairly simple for me multiple times, e.g., accepting credit card even for cheap items. They often have items I enjoy, including food items. I am tired of being harassed by people begging outside this store. This is your property to manage! Today a young man was racist and offensive when he demanded money. I won't be returning while this continues. In addition please hire more staff. One cash register open is not enough. I have never seen more than one person working here at a time. read more

I would like to write a positive review...but absolutely cannot. Mismanaged store with lots of missing products, disorganized shelves, especially food, or totally empty, very dim lighting, floors look dirty, and sometimes long waiting to check out. Slummy. I use to love Dollar Tree, I can understand things at dollar tree are 1.25. The problem I'm having is the merchandise is much smaller, we are paying more for less, this is going on everywhere, it's a shame, I went to buy some Kleenex tissue today when I saw the size of the toss box I refuse to buy it. Even the aluminum foil pan are not the same they are so flimsy not as firm as before, not worth buying. That's what's happening in 2022, pay more, get less! read more

Closing before your listed store hours is unacceptable! If you close at 9pm, I would think I could still go in at 8:45pm. Maybe management needs to get involved. Several customers were turned away! read more

New store, has been here for about 2 months. Everything was so neat and the staff is friendly and greets you as soon as you walk in. I love me some Dollar Tree teaching supplies. Today I picked up some popsicle sticks. I will be taking advantage of this location. read more

Clearly it took for someone to complain before other registers were opened! There was literally one open with about 12 customers in line....customer asked for corporate number and called while still waiting! Two other registers open but appears as if we were bothering them! This place lacks customer service an pleasant attitudes! I have to admit the one young guy stocking was helpful with assistants my those like myself that was looking for items! Very clean and very organized and you cannot say that about many dollar stores! Great customer service. Once a major line started to form the manager opened up two more lanes! (I know right?) Excellent but small selection of Halloween stuff just in time for the season. read more

I went into this dollar tree looking for a specific file folder after being in this aisle for five minutes an employee walked right pass me without asking if i needed help right after that a young lady named Erika came over and ask me did i need any help i told her yes and that sometimes i could b a hand full from the minute she approached she had been nothing but nice and patient with me she also smiled the entire time as if she was happy to be servicing me although they have the folder i was looking for she suggested one that i could work with instead grabbing one i took three happily it was nice to get great customer service because in most stores nowadays employees are rude i don't know how far this will get but i hope it gets in the right hands i was overly satisfied with erika and her great customer service need more like her. read more

I purchased balloons and asked for a bag to cover them the manager told me I had to pay 25 cents for a plastic bag to covered them as if I didn't make a purchase ! I'm glad one is In the area but I'm very disappointed. read more

I was in the dollar store on Saturday the gentleman that was doing the register was Absolutely, extremely, unprofessional!! Clearly he did not want to be there!!! He let a lady go in front of me with 50 items when in fact I had four candles & one lighter. I said why didn't you say something and he said, I wanted to!! I said well then why didn't you? He even went on, to talk about management that he didn't want to give the speech about the frozen food section that they were supposed to give and he said well don't worry about it, he told the female employee the supervisor is gone for the day!! DO NOT GO HERE. Having a Dollar Tree in Oak Park Is a big mistake. Dollar Tree needs to vet their managers. I was there with my 4-year-old daughter. We had a cart full of items. I have strict rules with my child. So, when I heard the store Manager, Aundrea, scream at my 4-year-old, I was taken aback. At the time I didn't know the store employee was the manager. When I asked to speak to the manager, Aundrea let me know she was the manager. This person should not be a manager. She is dangerous. She screamed at me and was belligerent. It was impossible to speak to her. Her own co-workers asked her to calm down. I asked for a corporate phone number, (They don't care.) but Aundrea refused. Instead, she called the police! I am a long- time Oak Park resident and I have NEVER had a row with the police. They arrived and immediately saw that I was calm and in no way threatening. They asked her to give me the corporate phone number. She finally did. DO NOT GO THERE. Having a Dollar Tree in Oak Park Is a big mistake. Dollar Tree needs to vet their managers. read more

I hate that I even have to give one star. I just left the Dollar Tree on Madison about an hour ago. I am completely appalled by what happened. PLEASE DO NOT SHOP HERE. Aundrea, THE MANAGER ASSAULTED MY SON FOR ABSOLUTELY NO REASON. I am still absolutely in shock that she is employed anywhere, let alone a manager. My partner and I brought our children in to get birthday supplies for my daughter's birthday. While inside we had split up in the store (my son with me and my daughter with her). I don't think the manager realized we were together. My son was standing directly behind me looking at a dust pan. He does the sweeping in our house so of course he is always looking for ways to make the job a little easier. This dustpan was a standing one with a long handle. Big bling for a 7 year old charged with sweeping. Anyway, he was holding the dustpan making his pitch to me as for why we should get it, when I noticed an employee walk up to him and grab it from him forcefully and put it away. This was all happening about 18 inches from me. I was dumbfounded. She literally yanked it from him and then put it away forcefully in some kind of show. Whaaaat was happening? Why does she care about out dustpan purchase? I stood there for a second and then asked her if he could see the dustpan. She berated me that I needed to "watch my child and not let him play with things". Excuse me? He wasn't playing, we were shopping. Maybe she can't imagine a boy doing house chores? Well in our house he does. I was floored and beyond confused. She seemed legitimately pissed off at us. I made him remake his argument to me for why he needed the dustpan and then said yes he could get it. We walked on. A while later I hear my partner asking this employee for the corporate office's number. Immediately, I was on alert. What was happening now? It turns out Andrea had berated my partner for "not watching our daughter" when she too was within feet of my partner. When my partner asked to speak to the manager Aundrea informed her she was the manager. My partner then asked for the cooperate office's number and her name WHICH SHE WOULD NOT GIVE US. The other employees were telling Andrea to "calm down" but it wasn't helping at all. At this point I went off verbally on Aundrea. How the hell can she treat people in such a way? I get that working at the Dollar Tree probably is not a basket of roses. I get that people's kids make messes there. It actually is my pet peeve and I can't stand it when people let their kids run wild. But whatever Aundrea thought was happening she handled it in an absolutely ludicrous and down right dangerous way. Andrea then tells us that we need to leave and will not give us her name or the corporate number. There was zero way I was going to let this woman mistreat us so badly and then just walk away like nothing happened. When we made it clear that we were not leaving without her name and corporate number she called the police. PLEASE DO. At least some sane person can come deal with you. Suffice it to say we eventually got the corporate office's number and her name. THANK YOU OAK PARK PD! On the other hand no one should ever have to deal with someone like this. Our children were in tears and absolutely terrified. I love the Dollar Tree. I love it way too much. But, there is no way in hell I am going back to someplace that can't guarantee the safety of my children FROM THEIR OWN EMPLOYEES. Get it together Dollar Tree. read more

Aundrea, the manager, needs lessons in civility. I understand that working in retail, especially at a discount store, cannot be fun, but she was extremely hostile and rude when I went to the store for a refund yesterday. One of the cashiers charged me twice for an item and when I asked for a refund, Aundrea acted as if I had ripped off the store. I suspect she was put out with having to review the security camera footage, which of course, confirmed I was right. She did not apologize and acted like it was a big imposition to give me a refund. When she practically yelled at me to get back in line for a refund, I told her I didn't appreciate her attitude, which only made her more openly hostile. She eventually stormed off in a huff. One of the cashiers actually apologized to me. It seemed like he felt bad for her completely out-of-line behavior. I will not shop at this store ever again, no thanks to the manager. From the reviews, I see others have also had negative experiences with her. Please get the chip off your shoulder, honey. It's uncalled for. read more
