I got my taxes done by Giselle last year and she put that my little sister is my son on my tax form it's so unbelievable and incompetent of her. For my moms taxes she put that my mom owned a laundry business and when we called her to further explain that she said " it's just a category to put private work like Uber or Insta cart." It's really crazy how much she lies out her behind. she also put that I lived in Los Angeles when I lived in Vegas. Nor did she go over any of the paper work with me. Then when I told her to fix my address because it was wrong she said she would and never did. Very unprofessional and unreliable she'll put u in a lot of trouble because of her negligence.

1 -- ABSOLUTE INCOMPETENCE. AVOID MARK SHERMAN CPA AT ALL COSTS…read more Hiring Mark Sherman CPA was one of the worst business decisions I've ever made. After trusting this firm with my business taxes for years, I've discovered an astonishing trail of mistakes, IRS penalties, returned tax payments, and financial headaches. They used a bank routing number that wasn't even associated with my business or my bank! This resulted in repeated failed tax payments and years of problems with the IRS. The truly unbelievable part? I had provided them with the CORRECT banking information years earlier, and I have the emails proving it. And that wasn't the only problem. We've uncovered tax payments applied to the wrong tax forms, repeated filing issues, penalties, and a mess spanning multiple tax years. Their incompetence has cost my business money, countless hours, and an unbelievable amount of frustration. Instead of running my business, I'm now forced to dig through years of IRS transcripts, emails, and financial records to investigate the very people I PAID to handle this correctly. What exactly was I paying these people for? A CPA is supposed to protect you from tax problems, not create them. In my experience, this firm has done the exact opposite. I wouldn't trust Mark Sherman CPA to balance a checkbook, let alone handle a business's taxes. If you value your money, your time, and your peace of mind, find another accountant. One star is far more than this firm deserves.

The first few years all was good, service was fine and they seemed genuinely helpful. Always got a tax refund, though they were never anything to brag about - but we always got something. The last few years however, have been a completely different story. We have owed something Every Single Year since then - Amazing how that's happened!! At first, the changes were small and minute. I guess it makes it easier for them to "explain it away", oh this part of the tax code changed (insert the current year you're filing your taxes), or you should make these changes (.....................), it "May" help out NEXT year, last year it was this change; this year it's a different section of the tax code that's changed, blah blah blah, etc. etc. - but miraculously, the changes Always seemed to impact us! So, lately the trend for the last number of years is that we have ended up Owing and no refund at all! What are the odds? Could it be that we are partly responsible, yes, could it also be that they are taking advantage of us? We've only been using them as our only tax preparers for the better part of a decade, Nearly a full decade - So perhaps the familiarity has given way to opportunity. I'll never know So that is why I'm not 100% totally convinced or sold on the pitch that each and every year post-covid, we've somehow managed to make just the right mistakes that ended up negating our chances of receiving a refund. Suffice it to say that I'm now done with this company; I'm out, Fini, never again! I won't be back in their office next year. I've had it with bs explanations and getting screwed over! You've been warned!
