It's a small grocery store with a hometown feeling. Plus it's nice to come here when you don't want to walk around a large grocery store for a few items. I stopped in for tea and honey as I had a sore throat. The tea was on sale for $2.99 but rang up at $3.19. I advised the cashier, who was the young man, and he looked at me like I was crazy. There were two people behind me but I didn't care, so I walked back to the shelf to make sure I saw the right price, and I did. He corrected the price. I know what you're thinking, it's only $0.20. But if the shelf tag says it's one price that's what it should ring up as, right? My family has used this grocery store to purchase fried chicken for special events many times. The deli line is always long, because not only is the chicken good, but many other items such as ham salad, etc. You can call in the chicken order ahead of time and they will have it ready when you pick it up. You can't pay when you call in the order as you have to pay when you pick it up. I would recommend Food Fair for your grocery needs. But like anywhere, be sure the price matches the shelf tag.

Is the possible cost of that worth it when better Kroger's are 20 minutes away? At the same time, the inside is going through "renovations" which is leaving it with less variety and looking dirtier. No idea what the manager is doing.

They were flexible for college students and it was a union job that offered health insurance. I shop this Kroger location when visiting my parents. The have several self check out lanes which I always use. You can buy anything from cakes, ice cream, cards, flowers and most recently they've added beer and wine. Prices on non sale items can be a little higher than other grocery stores. But they have pretty good sales. I purchased a half gallon of ice cream, Kroger deluxe brand, for $1.99. They also have a gas station. The more you shop at the store the more you save at the gas pump. So I always enter my parents phone number when I shop so they can get the points.

I went with my sister to pick up a few groceries I needed while visiting my parents. They had the isles marked so everyone travels in the same direction. Only problem was....not everyone can follow directions. They were low on pre-made salads but I managed to grab two. I found string cheese for snacking and some coconut toasted Cheerios limited edition. Can't wait to try those in the morning lol. You can find just about anything you are looking for at Wal-Mart. Pet food, home goods, groceries, patio furniture, grills, shoes, toys, electronics, over the counter medication, and sunscreen. The list goes on and on. This is your one stop shopping spot!

There was a Kroger, but the motel owner pointed me this way, toward Portsmouth. The prices were typical of the chain, and the service was reasonable and friendly.

We did our grocery shopping and I decided to check into applying for a job with them, so I went to the service desk. I asked the man at the desk for an application (just an application, mind you) and his first response was "What's your situation? Where do you live?"-spoken rudely. I told him my home location and his next response was "That's a 30-35 minute drive, and during a snow emergency you won't come in." Which, mind you, was entirely wrong. He proceeded to state that it just wouldn't be beneficial to me to apply there. He never gave me an application and I felt as though he discriminated against me because of the way I was spoken to and treated. Needless to say, my husband and I will NOT be coming back and we will spread the word. We will take our $500+ grocery shopping a month elsewhere and suggest that others do as well. If it hadn't been for the fact that I am not a rude person, we WOULD have left our $150 worth of groceries on the conveyor belt and walked out.
