Visited today to show customer service my raw chicken pics (it was sold as fully cooked chicken... again, see previous review) & to alert them to our food poisoning from burgers 2-wks ago, both from the hot deli (detailed in 1st review). It ended up being so frustrating, I asked for a refund for the chicken (I had a receipt) but they wouldn't refund the burgers that gave us 8-days of food poisoning, as I had no receipt.
First, CS kept insisting that pink color is normal in smoked chicken. I said we'd been getting their chicken nightly for 3-wks & it was never pink & cold & raw. She kept pressing that she really didn't think it was an issue... no apology or care at all... so I told her to stop talking & just give me back my phone.
Her direct mngr wandered by, saw the pics & said to find the store mngr for a refund.
They should have had the mngr come to the counter, but I followed her around the store from 1 side to the next before we found Jack, the mngr, who seemed annoyed. He did the same side tracking... beef & chicken are different depts is all he'd say. So? What does that have to do with my complaints? I said those are the inner workings of his store & it makes the situation worse cuz it means 2 depts aren't processing/preparing food properly.
He then said, utterly straight face with no eye contact, no one else complained & walked away. I followed & told him it didn't matter, I'd never shop there again & please issue a refund. He then fell into the fake southern "Yes, ma'am" nonsense every time I said something rather than stopping to speak to me with respect & concern. "NO one else complained!" he said incredulously. So what? It was all we ate that day & we immediately got ill. Maybe with others they'd eaten a number of things so didn't know what caused an issue, if anyone else had food poisoning. But, what does that matter, even if we were the only ones? Does he really think we're making it up to get a $6 refund on 5 chicken drumsticks, really?
He told the CS woman to issue a refund & walked away from me without a word. The CS woman helped the cashier process my refund then walked away without a word & finally turned around & mumbled, "Sorry." Half hearted, but at least I got one.
Really poor customer & community service. I was a dept mngr in a large dept store & managed other small stores over my career (beauty supplies, espresso bar & lingerie) & learned early on that the 1st thing customers want to hear is, "I'm so sorry that happened to you. Let's take care of that right now." It's respectful & btw, helps retain a customer. When someone tells you they were in bed ill for 8-days on your product, for the love of Valhalla, at least have some eye contact & a concerned look.
I will not visit this store again for anything & will go miles up the road to Walmart/Winn Dixie/Publix the couple of months I'm visiting in the area.
They're currently trying to hire someone for their meat dept & boy can they use it since their current employees aren't following proper guidelines for food handling.
0* out of 5. Really poor representation of customer service & worse, dangerous food products.
