My wife and I awoke in a quaint lil' Air BnB around 8AM on a Saturday. I made her watch Rogue One…read moreand Attack of the Clones all morning. It was epic! We ate eggs with fish in it for breakfast. Yumm. Afterwards we agreed that at 1100 we must get groceries to make our sisters dinner. My wife speedily took an hour to wash her hair before we went on our adventure. When she finished we ate more food! This time curry with a side of PB&J. Yumm. Around 1pm we set off to Walmart. It was an easy drive. We saw tons of trees with leaves. Upon arriving my wife noticed the Walmart was small. Very strage. They're usually big, you know? The next bad omen was the carts. They were all next to the registers. Haven't seen that before! We got our cart and perused the isles. Bad omen number three was soon revealed to us. No produce! Or milk! Or meat! I looked at my wife and exclaimed, "Honey! This Walmart is milkless!" She replied with, "I know." So obviously we expeditiously removed ourselves from that horrible place. My wife was sad. I was sadder. We quietly sat in our car in the parking lot for a while. I looked toward the horizon, questioning everything I thought I knew about stores. That's when I saw the INGLES sign. With a Deli and Bakery sign next to it. That's when I knew there was still hope in the world. I heroically sped over to the place. Not even telling my wife where we were headed. She questioned me. The parking lot was honestly kinda sus. There weren't many people there. However, the inside was amazing. I remember seeing lettuce and my heart skipping a beat. The isles were nicely spaced apart and well stocked with everything we needed including greek yogurt, vinegar, and oregano; excluding shallots. Purchasing our haul was a pleasant experience. And excellent young man offered to carry our groceries for us. We said no. As we walked out of the store my wife and I spoke about how much we adored the place. We would like to work there someday. The best part was when we finished putting out groceries away, the excellent young man appeared in a blink of a eye. He offered to take our cart away. We said yes. Five stars. Would shop at Ingles again.

As many are aware Wal Mart now has very few checkers anymore and therefore you must scan your own items. So, I pulled my cart up and did just that.. it took me awhile, I had a lot of stuff. All the while a Wal Mart associate stood 5 feet away and watched to make sure I scanned every item. All of a sudden my scanner stopped working. I called over the associate who I noticed had her hand held device tracking my every scanned item. Well apparently I exceeded the slotted items purchased. 143? I then had to pay for my items and then continue scanning for a second purchase?? So.... my issue is... if you don't trust me to scan all my items, instead of watching me like a moderator during SAT's. Pull up a chair and scan them yourself. The Wal Mart family are the combined richest people in the world and yet your cheap ass makes me scan and bag my own items while you dictate how much I can buy all the while I feel like I'm a parolee about to have his freedom revoked. Bad... bad.. business practices. I much rather preferred when you checked my receipt when I was walking out the door. Venting.....

If you find something you like, BUY IT because chances are if you leave then come back for it, it won't be there. Treasures I've found include Lilly Pulitzer clothing, (laundry) washboards, mirrors, and a golfing Santa. Unfortunately it seems prices are increasing. When I stopped in recently to potentially purchase a small school desk I noticed the price seemed much higher than when I originally saw it, by almost 66%. I ended up not getting the desk since it was going to go in the garden anyway.

To get a building of that size even renovated in such short of time is impressive! It's only getting bigger and better. I can normally spend AT LEAST two hours here because I find something new each lap I take. With so much variety I would be surprised if you didn't leave with something. Maybe it's because I like scavenger hunts too, but you never know what you'll find and for cheap! If you like shopping this is the place for you! I can even get my boyfriend to look around for an hour! My only con is that I leave with too much stuff! Jen and the staff are amazing and always willing to work with you. You just have to come see it yourself! What better way to support local than getting to support so many people in one place!

Had a…read moremedicine my doctor was going to prescribe,no generic available, it was a temporary medicine until I could see surgeon in 2 weeks. My doctor said it's expensive if your insurance doesn't cover it. Call BCBS and it was not covered, told my doctor to wait on sending prescription until I shopped around. I called Walgreens, told pharmacist name and mg, she said I need your birthday and the doctor name. I explained that I didn't have a prescription yet that I would be paying out of pocket. She said I have to have a prescription before I quote a price. Explained situation again, she said " I don't have time to fool with this" and slammed the phone down. I called back, different pharmacist, after a bit of complaining she finally said $238. So I called Food City Pharmacy 2 blocks away, they said it will be $127 out of pocket since your insurance doesn't cover it. So if you live in the tri state area of Tn., Va. My, just go on by Walgreens to Food City,Walmart or thru the tunnel to a pharmacy in Middlesboro, because both Walgreens Pharmacist or parm techs. are extremely rude and most recent reviews on Google, Consumer affairs or Yelp are all 1 and 2 star. However there are still 4 and 5 star reviews, but look at the date, most are 3,4, and 5 years ago,so evidently the old has left and the new didn't learn respect and how that bad news travels fast on FB, Instagram and X.
