Prices are typically higher than other nearby grocery stores, with an ok sale once in a while. The rows of parking lot slots feel narrow and people drive really fast in this area, so it's always a little chaotic. There are some bizarre metal base plant fixtures in the spots that mean you can't pull through most spots either, urgh. The selection feels a little light for a grocery store (especially for plant based options like plant based meats), and the self checkout stations are slow and felt outdated years ago. They don't put out paper bags at the self checkout area and you have to awkwardly ask an employee for them which is weird. Only giving another star because this is the only store where I can find the Daiya Cheddar flavor non dairy cheese anymore (my absolute favorite and even Whole Foods doesn't carry it lately!) It used to be priced better but has increased recently. Really grateful for this option here. Their baked goods are also pretty good, I enjoy their specialty Paczki (Polish donut) options in the winter when they're available.

This occasion I stayed with my Cousin and her family so we did our shopping at this location. These stores are beautiful and clean. My daughter and I realize how we miss shopping in a grocery with wide isles and plenty of choices for various products. If I lived here I'm sure I'd learn my way around the store. Every isle has new varieties to try. In the city I run from store to store for sales and variety. One thing I noticed is this location is rated as higher cost than the other Big Y in the area. I did see a lot of merchandise that was just as expensive as in NYC. I'm sure you have to pay the price to have such a huge amount of stock on hand. I recommend Big Y if you visit this area. If you move here get the rewards card. My cousin earns points and gets sales price with her card. I just bought bread and it wasn't on sale. I'm going to check the price here in the city to see if Pepperidge Farms charges more or the same as Connecticut. My Jewish Dark Pumpernickel was $3.99 for a small loaf. I'm still trying to finish eating it! Very fresh and delicious. I didn't see the Bread Alone Bread in the stores. That's one problem, some New York Companies may not distribute that far away. I'll prepare to bring a few slices with me next time!!

This attitude is unprofessional and does not endear customers to the store. Even when corporate visits the stores, they act and present themselves as if their only concern is making more money. On the downside, Market Basket can get very busy. Navigating the aisles can be challenging, and there can still be lines at the registers on the weekends even when all of them are open. The parking lot can be just as crowded. Sometimes necessary to park in the Home Depot lot because the Market Basket lot is completely full. Overall, though, Market Basket offers good prices, a solid selection, fresh produce, and plenty of staffed checkout lanes. A solid 4 stars.
