I love what they are doing with the program to get more people eating whole, fresh foods. If you are on food stamps (SNAP) and are willing to make a small effort, one can come near to doubling your benefits. Basically every $20 spent on a daily basis for foods other than fresh produce will result in a $20 coupon for fresh produce. The key is to shop and keep you purchases as close to $20 as possible. Most cell phones include a calculator. I make of list of what I need, I check sales ads to see if anything I need is at a sale price and make my purchase, then I keep my fresh produce separate (note: packaged salads that contain cheese, nuts, dressing does not count as fresh produce) but go for all other fresh produce. And if you don't see it out, don't hesitate to ask for assistance; they get new deliveries all the time. Love the people, love having a store that offers fresh deli, local bakery, and fresh beef and dairy. And the produce is the cherry on the top of the cake! I was thrilled when I saw three children picking out what they wanted and calculating price per pound for their favorite items.

It's much cleaner than Wal-Mart and the selection is superior. They even have an assortment of organic and international products. When I got to the maned check out a young lady was at the counter. When it came time for me to pay my bill was only around $60 so I gave her the money and she stood there feeling of the money/bills, then she used a marker to mark the bills two different times. But that's not all, she then started to rub the bills together each one at a time. She took about five minutes before she gave me my changes back. I understand that Walmart has to check bills, but that was uncalled for. From now on we are going to the auto check outs.

The fact that it's small means you're not spending 15-20 minutes going from point a to point b like you are at Walmart. Prices are decent. They honor the Homeland weekly ads so if you purchase items that are in the ad that week, you're getting some really good deals. The staff is very friendly even though they do seem to have a high turnover. CONS: The produce and meat departments are run by professionals that have been doing their jobs there for years so if you have questions, they can answer them. Unfortunately the dairy and frozen food departments have a revolving door of head clerks so those areas can be hit or miss as to whether something is in stock or not. Some days the dairy department looks like a tornado hit if: broken eggs all over the place, empty shelves, expired milk, etc. I'm giving them four stars out of five. I definitely prefer shopping here versus Homeland or Walmart.
