They lay out glasswear on tables for easy looking also and usually have a pretty good selection of miscellaneous glasses/vases/etc. There is a second half of the store that is not bins, but still bargains for food items, housewares, furniture, supplements, and more. This side is not always a discount at all compared to other places, but you can still often find items that are a good deal - just be wary of expiration dates on foods. Last time I went the restrooms were out of order, but usually this is not the case. Overall I love coming here for the hunt--it's not the cleanest but also not dirty compared to others I've been in. Always crowded when I go, and I always find something(s) from each side to take home with me!

Using the app to find the current price can be a little annoying since you're scanning almost every item you look at, but if that's how they lower prices I can overlook the inconvenience. Some days it can be overstimulating if they are busy, but that's just how it goes. My number one tip is asking for them to open an item before bringing it home. Make sure you use the outlets to test electric items. Some boxes are handled rough and can be damaged, always better to double check before purchasing.

Went in and the store was a disaster, the one employee I had the joy of dealing with at the register was very upset there was a line, frustrated by any questions, didn't care to wait for anyone to enter their phone number just was in an all out hurry to herd the customers out. The other staff was in the back corner of the store playing on their phone and never even acknowledged someone in their general vicinity. There were products in the middle of the isle, products spilled and nothing was in its place! If this is what to expect I will drive to another town if I need this store! I am in healthcare and I travel all the time and am all over the US. I have been in at least 1 dollar general in every state and when I tell you this place SUCKS the life out of you when you walk through the door that is an understatement. The employees and management walk around with attitudes and if you need ANYTHING they act like your asking for a kidney. They had an item priced wrong and I was at the self checkout becasue of course NOONE was up front at the real checkout. Then she had an attitude because I told her the price and that I was charged almost 2.00 higher so she refunded me and took the product. I smiled tryinb to be patient and I said no mam I wanted the product I just wanted it for the price it is advertised for and she got a complete attitude and rolled her eyes and so I asked her if she was having a bad day and her reply was I sure am. All I could do was shake my head. If you aren't a people person then don't work customer service. Find a job that suits you like a crash test dummy but don't ruin my day with your attitude.

do not waste your time trying to use a discount card that your doctor issues sometimes for a…read morediscount at HyVee in Clarinda, they won't honor it. my cough medicine was supposed to be $8.60 with the discount card Dr Shelton sent me, HyVee wouldn't honor it, charged me $21.30, plus they lied to me once before on a prescription, said they had to order it and it would be ready the next day at 11:00, went in the next day, the girl said "oh we had to order that, it will be in tomorrow at 11:00" i said, you told me that yesterday. Travis was there and said "we'll fill it right away. needless to say my family is done doing business with that place, i'll drive to Maryville from now on.
