A lot of them find their way to discount grocery stores, who pick them up from major chain stores for a fraction of the price. Sure the stuff may be really close to the expiration date, or the package may have a ding/dent in it, but the food is every bit as good as it would have been if you had paid full price for it at the major chain. Don't let the humble-looking facade fool you. Whether you need toiletries, protein bars, chicken breasts, cereal, or dessert; Discount Grocery Outlet has you covered. Almost everything there is name brand, and it's almost all priced well below the major grocery chains. The staff is all extremely friendly, and willing to help any given time you need them. If you prefer to avoid using plastic bags, they're happy to give you some of their cardboard boxes to take your purchases home in. One important thing to remember though, is that just because you found something there one time, doesn't mean it will be there forever. Unlike the big box stores, Discount Grocery Outlet doesn't have the constant supply of these items straight from the manufacturer. At the same time, the variety is great to see, and makes it an adventure going in every time. The only thing that keeps me from giving them five stars is that the prices seem to have crept up a little bit since an article in the newspaper a year or so ago, spotlighting discount grocery stores such as this one. Discount Grocery Outlet was one of the main focuses of the article, and since there it seems as though they felt like the prices should increase to reflect their recent article mention.

They definitely cater to an older crowd (I'd say the 40-something-ladies of Roundtown are the prime target), but as a young female (even when I was in high school) I have always been able to find something here. And if Buckeye or pumpkin garb is your thing, look no further. I not only like when they have sales, but I LOVE their deli department. They are very competitive. I also like the fact that it is a smaller size grocery store and I don't have to walk 10 miles to pick up a gallon of milk. I will admit that I usually do not get to many of our breakfast foods there because they tend to be higher, but overall, they do wonderful. They also just remodeled their bathrooms. They were pretty bad before, but now they are very nice.
