There are a huge range of glasses to suit all budgets including cheap basic glasses to high end designer glasses. They do contact lenses. They also offer special coatings for glasses and reactions lenses. When you have an appointment you are dealt with in a friendly reassuring way. I have been with Specsavers for years and would recommend them.

I think the staff are really helpful in here they are very good at giving advise. If you ever need to make an appointment at short notice they always manage to squeeze you in. They were thoroughly tested too , field vision , that horrible one were they puff air at your eyeball and for an extra £10 you can have an image taken of the back of your eye which shows up any problems- however there was no pressure to have this done. I then saw the optician , a very friendly lady who explained everything she asked or did very clearly and was friendly and polite. She then went through my new prescription explaining any changes and recommending what glasses I would need. Now I have to be honest here I went to Boots as I had a voucher for a free eye test which you just don't waste and thought about just taking the prescription and running but they had some really pretty glasses and a buy one get one free offer on single lens glasses and as I need glasses for reading and long distance for driving that was ideal . What swung the deal was the insurance I am always putting my glasses down and sitting on them or knocking them onto the floor and standing on them but for £20 I could insure them against accidental damage ( scratches,breakages etc) for 12 months- take them in get a new pair -great. So all in all I was very impressed with the staff, the eye test , the range of glasses and the price. Will definitely be going back there for my next eye test.

The staff were thourough and the equipment used was very impressive, after being used to one optician peering in my eyes, i was surprised at the number of tests available. They went over my prescription in great detail and we had a decent choice of glasses, although i did think they pushed the designer glasses a bit too much. Would certainly go back there again and have booked my next apppointment. One of the added bonuses for me is that it is all on one level, and you get boots points as well.

The staff here were super friendly, from the fantastic optician Mohammed who even warranted a compliment from Boots when I picked up my new glasses, to the lovely women who took my details and run the floor. They did have a good selection of glasses, I only went to another optician after my eye test here for my glasses as they stocked the Dolce and Gabanna brand which they don't seem to stock here, plus they were running a better promotional offer to make it worthwhile. It was so easy getting an appointment, you can make them in-store or online, they did move my appointment earlier but this was better for me, they would have kept it at the same time but didn't want me to be rushed during the test and then looking at picking up new glasses. They did close early on one occasion, I did turn up five minutes before closure, after making them aware this was addressed. 4* - Great Opticians, solve problems well when they do occur. Having a better selection of glasses to compete with Boots, Vision Express and Specsavers should be a priority. It is a shame in the refurb they didn't improve technology such as with the eye testing machines instead of the heavy lense frames, similar to Vision Express.

Rodney Hampshire, ophthalmic optician has his premises right here in the centre of the village, and for a tiny place, he has a surprisingly large range of frames to choose from.. In addition to having your eyesight checked, you can also bring your broken glasses here to be repaired. You will always find friendly service, and there is not too long to wait for an appointment. There is often a really good window display, showing the attention to detail that this small establishment takes.

The prescription room is situated downstairs, the entrance is opposite the door and is quite steep and akward to get to. The prices of the frames and lenses are varied and can be very expensive. If you want good overall service this is a very well established an well thought of service, however i would shop around for glasses.
