Disappointment. That's the prevailing feeling I had after the visit to Dolina Charlotty. It's beautiful location, fame coming from the yearly rock festival and good marketing promised a place of luxury and rest. That's far from the truth. It's a big hotel, very family-friendly, which means a lot of children screaming and running around. Hardly a romqntic getaway. The spa also disappoints - one, not so big swimming pool, one crowded hot tub and saunas - a lot of them, which is good, but also without any distinctive style.
Small things ruin the experience here, that could potentially be great. Just one, small elevator for the whole, huge building. No drinking water anywhere, including the sauna zone. Dirty room with cobwebs in corners and shower so neglected it looks disgusting. Parking lot full of potholes and mud. There is absolutely no feeling that you're in a special place, where they care for you and where you can relax.
Good sides: definitely the Bali Hai Spa - but the massage and therapy part, not the pools and saunas. The massages are being done by professional therapists and they feel good. That's actually the only place in the hotel that looks luxurious. Also the food is very good, both the breakfasts and the meals a la carte at the hotel's restaurant. Location is wonderful: it's very close to the coast and Słupsk is nearby if you want to buy groceries or anything else.
I feel bad about this place because I think the potential here is being wasted. Dolina Charlotty got some good PR at some point and instead of building on that they just stopped caring at all. In a few years they can even loos these 3 stars. Shame. read more
