I arrived a day early by mistake. The dog ares were spotless and comfortable. There was a large number of dogs socialising together happily outside in a secure area, fully supervised. No anxious barking, quite an achievement! Most importantly the human team are genuine dog lovers, and came across as professional and friendly. I left my dogs at Walkapaws knowing they would be well cared for. Enjoyed seeing photos of them on Facebook while I was on hols. On my return I found them healthy and happy. I would recommend Walkapaws-you get what you pay for.

Basically it's just a place for the dogs to run around, do what they want and go where they want. There are no boundaries other than the fence around the place. They blatantly told me that they don't follow owners wishes or schedules for their dogs eg. they get treats as a reward (my dog's don't do reward treats). One bag of treats wasn't returned to me because apparently other dog owners bring treats in to be shared. I wasn't even asked if I wanted to do that. Whatever you do, don't even think about taking a dog there that has any issues or behavioural problems. They don't care and won't help you with them (basically they know nothing about dog behaviour) The owners ran a business previously and has no experience in dog handling, training,etc. I was deceived during our initial conversation when I was told they could help me with my dogs problems. I just bought a new bed for my dogs and they ruined it by putting it through the washer and dryer. I have a cover for the bed and I line it with pee pads. They are so out of it that they didn't even notice the pee pads, the clean cover in the bag or the extra peed pads. The bed was washed with the cover on it and the pee pads inside it. I had to deal with soaking wet pads,etc when I got home. When I asked what had happened the only concern the owner had was that the pee pads could have ruined her washer and that putting them on the bed was highly unusual. Very bad experience and it has taken forever to retrain my dogs after being there. One good thingthey love dogs.

This is a proper, massive pet supermarket and it's delightful to see dogs walking their owners around the store - if only more businesses could be as animal friendly! Plus with their loyalty card scheme they post discount coupons out, addressed to your pet by name, which is cute. Staff are also very knowledgeable, helpful and pleasant. However it drops a couple of stars for the following reasons: ~ A lot of items you buy from Pets at Home you'll find at the same price or cheaper in your local supermarket. So shop around. ~ I believe it unethical to support the breeding, buying and selling of animals as pets especially when sanctuaries and pounds are filled to overflowing with unwanted pets. Stores such as Pets at Home, which sell animals, just exasperate this problem.

'You need something small and furry to cuddle,' he opined as he parked, really quite badly, in the massive car park. 'Apart from me, of course.' Well. I'd never thought of getting a rabbit, but when I saw Bailey, lop-eared and twitchy-nosed, in one of the glass enclosures, I became a bit childlike. I bounced on the balls of my feet a bit, tugged at the other half's sleeve and batted my eyelashes in an alluring manner. (Hang on, that last one's just creepy.) The other half went to find a staff member, while I lurked jealously by the bunny's enclosure, shooting filthy looks at anyone who came near. Especially kids. But he was back within a minute with a very impressively knowledgeable sales assistant, who told me everything I needed to know about rabbits and what to get them. (I wasn't listening by this stage because she'd taken the rabbit out for me and I was cuddling her and cooing into her fur [the rabbit, that is, not the sales assistant, because that would also have been creepy]. But a general sense of really-knowing-her-stuff came through the haze of love.) The shop in general is very well equipped with everything you could need for all types of pet, and the prices are really reasonable, with a budget range of essentials like feeding bowls or doggy poop scoopers starting at a quid. So we duly got all the equipment we needed for the new member of the household, which included a special starter deal for the cage, food, feeding bowl, bottles and toys. Then we very gently took that wascally wabbit home. Found an amazing range of collars and other possible gifts at very competitive prices. Everything for sale represented both quality and value for money. A lovely young man helped us in our selection. It was auld Ted's first birthday at the weekend so we decided to treat the wee fella to a nice…read moretrim, after all he was getting wild messy! Ted is a dog by the way, a small scruffy dog. Dogalicious is only a few minutes drive from where we live so that played a part in our decision to give it a go, that and the sweet name obviously. After a few unsuccessful attempts at making an appointment (due to availability) we finally got him booked in on Saturday. We took the short drive up and explained that we anted just a 'wee tidy up and trim'. Ted is a nervous wee chap but he seemed grand when we handed him over to the occupier. He seemed to like the look of the Westie being cut when we went in - I reckon he wanted to have a good old flirt. Anyway, the service took around 1 hour 30 minutes and we were called when Ted was ready. When I picked him up he seemed happy enough. He looked a million dollars though, all his scruffy ends had been tidied up and he smelt like a bed of roses. I asked him what aftershave he was wearing but he wouldn't tell me, said it was uncool if I wore the same as him. Dogs be Kray! The only slight flaw was that he was still a little bit longer on top than we'd have liked, although I appreciate how hard it is to cut a dog when it can't speak and it's owners aren't there to tell you what they'd like. His wee claws had been trimmed and like I said he was smelling fresh - Happy enough to go to Dogalicious again, to me £15 was good value especially considering how good Ted looked in all his birthday selfies!

Most dogs love the water, but not our Mutt, she is the devil incarnate when you so much as but a bar of soap near her. But Yvonne and her assistants at Airport Groomers have seen it all before and look after all the dogs that pass through, including our little Madam. Yvonne has set up a great little business, and its well run, bright and pleasant to go to - it doesn't have that 'wet dog' smell that so many other dog grooming places have, and it's kept very clean. She always takes on board any requests you have about your dogs 'look' - sounds pompous, but dog owners know what I mean. She is great at fitting you in if there is a cancellation also. She is always well booked up - a sign of how good the business is.

Oh yes, screw those fishies...this pet shop had a real life dog. Mmm hmm. A dachshund to be precise, and a friendly mutt it was too. I'm glad that my sister walked into the shop first, as it ran up and greeted us as soon as we were through the door. In fact, I didn't even see what it was my sister was talking to, namely because a) there wasn't a whole lot of room, and b) the dog had raced up to her so deftly that I was unaware of its presence. A couple of seconds later and I realised that the deft dog was now playing dead dog, and had decided to perch itself on my sister's feet. I then took a slight detour to the cat section (I'm not gonna lie...give me a cat over a dog any day of the week), whilst my sister gave doggie a rub. I then realised that the shop assistant was sitting right in front of me, and got ever so slightly embarrassed at my comments to my sister ("get out of the way", "shift that dog" sort of thing). He was evidently very amused at the ongoing shenanigans, and had to stifle a laugh at the comedy unfolding before him. Glad to be of service, sir. I did manage to pick up some food for the cat, but that wasn't before my sister got super excited at the discovery of a yellow and blue budgie. [Don't ask where the dog had gotten too...I haven't a clue. Both of them (sister and mutt) had moved on, so it longer mattered anyhow]. Not much else to report, but it's not often you'll find a pet shop that has a dog as it's greeter...

This place isn't the best for dog food as you can't get it cheaper in supermarkets if you like tinned food: this place is better for large bags of feed, which are far better for your dog anyways! The store is small but has animal accessories for the most popular domesticated animals like hamsters, cats and many more! The store also takes advertisements for local breeders so it can be a useful place to look if you are trying g to locate a specific breed of animal!

We have had a dog in our family for about twenty years now so we have built up a relationship with Glenn's and we discovered how understanding they are when we had to make that painful last decision regarding our two previous dogs. We also discovered that they work hand in glove with the local animal sanctuary (Assisi) as we got our present dogs from Assisi via Glenn's as a litter of pups had to go to the vets for treatment a few weeks after birth. The staff made sure that the five that recovered were appropriately homed. Two years down the line and with a few less shoes etc due to excessive chewing we have no regrets that we decided to take two of the said pups. One of the pups has a hip problem so our visits to the vets have been regular. It is quite touching to watch the staff take such a personal interest in the dog and the excited interaction of the dog with the staff. So I can say on behalf of our furry family that if you are looking for a vets that will give you and your animal the personal treatment , look no further!
