My normal sitter was busy for the weekend before the 4th of July and my backup was full, so I took my golden doodle to Dogtopia after he spent an afternoon in daycare to get acclimated a bit. When I picked him up and got him home, I noticed he had a scab in his head. I called Dogtopia to inquire if there had been an issue about which I was not informed. The gentleman with whom I spoke told me my dog was not in a scuffle but he would ask he colleagues if they knew anything. I was told that my dog was put in a smaller crate than I expected (I asked about the size of the crate in which he would be housed prior to booking) and rubbed his head raw. I was surprised that no one called me and was told they had over 75 dogs so he guessed they just didn't get around to it. No concern was displayed, no apology that my dog was hurt while in their care...nothing! We will not be going back. read more

Dogtopia Review: On Yesterday (Monday, October 2, 2023), I scheduled my puppy her meet and greet for Dogtopia and when walked in the place was very decent and lady who was checking us in was very nice and friendly. So we left her there to run a few errands and maybe like an hour later we gave them a call to see how she was doing. The employee who answered the phone said that she was doing great that she passed. We were so happy and after that we went to go and picked her up and the employee who was checking us out said that she did good and etc. So the gentleman brought her and we went home. Here's where everything takes a turn, we get home and we are wiping her feet off and we look at her stomach it's red and full of scratches. So immediately we gave Dogtopia a call tell them what was going on and try to see why we didn't get a phone call when this happened and why didn't know one look her over before bring her up to me. The young lady who answered the phone said that "she was in the room with active dog and their nails aren't trimmed correctly." I told her " she has been to different daycares and NEVER CAME HOME LIKE THIS!" So after I said that she really didn't have nothing to say! She put in the system to have the manager give me a call when he got in. Management didn't call me, I had to give them call at 5:16pm to get some type of explanation on how this happened. Was the person in the room even watching the dogs or was the person watching tv more than the dogs. Matt the manager didn't have any type of sincerely in his voice! So nonchalant about everything, kept saying "what you want me to do about it?" I should haven't to tell you what to do about your staff! What i wanted was some accountability. Cause at some point my dog was being watching closely by the person in the room. My dog will not be back there and i will not be recommending no one to them! Good thing i didn't have to take her to the vet! One thing they can do just check other the dogs before bring them up to their parents and communicate more! I loved this place; I really did. My dogs loved it too. However, the last time I took them, I was left with an awful feeling. When I arrived to drop my pet off, I encountered an employee who I thought was having a bad day. I brushed it off until they started making negative comments about my dog. I began to get a bad feeling, but they'd never had a bad experience there before, so I ignored it. On the drive home, I kept playing it back in my head, wondering if maybe I shouldn't have left them there. Then, as I was arriving home (about a 30-minute drive), I saw a voicemail from that same employee exclaiming that my dog was a huge problem and to call them immediately. The employee told me my dog "immediately went after 5 dogs and had to be removed from the play area." I knew right away that something was very wrong. My dog has attended several doggy daycares, including Dogtopia, and I have personally observed my dog playing and socializing with other dogs. Not once has my dog had any issues with aggression. My pets are very well-socialized and get along great with all dogs. The depiction of my dog's behavior that I received was highly exaggerated and sensationalized. Trusting my intuition, I immediately knew something was not right. I was never asked to come and get my dog, but I refuse to entrust my dog to someone who seeks to vilify them. My dog deserves respect and care, and I will only trust them with someone who can provide that. I found a new doggy daycare in Baton Rouge that welcomed my dog with open arms and had no problems. Other owners should use extreme caution, as this was a longstanding employee. I reached out to Dogtopia to express my concerns, and they did not even want to hear what happened; they only asked which location my dog went to so they could talk to them about it first. I find it concerning that a company that touts its dedication to animal welfare prioritizes speaking with its employees before consulting with individuals with firsthand experience. My dog really, really, really loves spending the day at daycare at Dogtopia. She comes home completely exhausted and totally played out. I like that the dogs are separated into 3 separate rooms by size and temperament, and I like that there's a trained staff member paying close attention to a reasonable amount of dogs. The floors are a specific type of rubber that's gentle on my dog's paws. Also, the dogs get two hours of nap time in the early afternoon so they rest and then get to play out all their additional excess energy. I've brought my dog to other daycares in BR, but they either didn't have cameras I could see her on or there were WAY WAY too many dogs for one person to watch safely. As a consequence, my dog got into something nasty at another daycare and she was sick for days. At Dogtopia, the dogs are really well monitored and I feel safe dropping my dog off for a day of daycare. read more

Was extremely unimpressed with the facilities, pets forced to use bathroom indoors. The staff was friendly, however minimal positive interaction seen on webcams between staff and the few animals there. Dogs were not in play areas during hours promised. There were a few good staff but most did not seem to care for dogs and were very annoyed by the dog's barking. The body language and interactions with the dogs were terrible. After finding three different injuries on my dog on three separate occasions and one of my dogs physically resisted going into the establishment, we felt it was necessary to bring them somewhere else. A neighbor on Nextdoor recommended Jessica at Dogtopia for dog grooming. We used Petz Plaza in the past, but I wasn't 100% pleased with them, so I was in the market for someone new. I like that I can book an actual appointment time (and my dogs aren't stuck there all day like at other places). Jessica was really sweet with my dogs, and she did a great job! Sullivan our labradoodle loves Dogtopia whether it's doggie day care playing with other pups or being pampered getting groomed. On occasion Sullivan will spend a few nights at Dogtopia and it must be pretty grand along with him loving his suite because he doesn't pout when we pick him up....in fact he looks like he has been on vacation! I brought my cocker mix here for grooming and they did a fantastic job. The groomer called me to speak about what I wanted. She followed my requests wonderfully. Lots of attention to detail. I also think the price was very reasonable for the result ($55 for low cut and mohawk). I'll definitely be coming back. read more
