The team here is amazing! Our dog Lily is very anxious and they always make her and us feel loved. We are so grateful to have a place to board her where the staff understands her needs making it easier and more comfortable leaving her in their care. Our son and daughter bring their dogs here too when they're in town from Chicago. The team always welcomes them like they're "regulars". The check in/check out process is so easy and quick. When our older dog Eddie passed away in March, they made a card with his picture and everyone signed it. We were so touched by this . I was hesitant to start using a doggy daycare (my baby is growing up *sniff*), but it was necessary with our post-covid work schedules. My beagle hound pup was so nervous at first. It took a few visits before she learned the routine. Before I knew it, she was actually happy and initiating zoomies during the afternoon play session. The gals are great - Roxy runs right up to them, and from the reports they give me at pickup, she actually listens to them (?!). Beagles are notorious for their stubborn behavior and mine is no exception. She has a relaxed temperament and can be quite shy, especially around larger dogs. She does great with the smaller dogs and she has always been put with that group during playtime. I love the fact they post photos to their Facebook group, often throughout the day, so I can see how my Roxy Roo is doing. The increase in her confidence has been very apparent when comparing photos from her first few stays until recent. The hours are fantastic and they offer a reasonable rate. I've never had an issue with getting Roxy in without booking ahead of time. This has been huge for me as sometimes I do not know if I will be working in the field until last minute. Upon pickup, my pup tells me (VERY LOUDLY) how her day was and she has always been noticeable well cared for during her stay. She gets exhausted from playing, and her socialization skills and anxiety of being left alone has improved greatly. Prior to taking her to daycare, she would scream cry if I was gone for more than 5 minutes. Now she can be left alone 3-4 hours. Progress! Sometimes the facility is out of my way to a field site but I'll happily take the extra time to come here where I know my dog will be cared for and remembered. Great job! I just started bringing Porkchop here once a week for a fun change of pace for her. It is very conveniently located right off 60th on my way to work, so that helps too. I brought her the first time and called to check in on her around noon. They told me that she got into a spat with a bigger dog that startled her, but they were quickly separated and played in different groups. I appreciated the honesty and knowing that they were quick to make her more comfortable. When I picked her up she was exhausted! It had even rained that day so it was nice to see that she'd clearly still been playing inside. The next time I brought her she was actually excited :) They gave me a picture from her first day and she had a huge grin on her face. I think Chops and I are happy to have found a new place for her to have fun. They also do grooming and boarding for very reasonable prices. read more

My husband and I used Doggy Office for boarding and daycare on/off for almost three years. Initially, we loved it - they seemed great with our dogs at first, the prices were good and there was always an opening available for any last-minute reservations. Unfortunately, over the last year, the customer service has completely changed. I began noticing that one of our dogs was always pictured alone in the photos posted (rather than with a group of dogs). It took A LOT of prying from the staff to find out they felt she "barked aggressively" at other dogs - yet when I asked repeatedly for any proof or documentation (in hopes of determining if this was a problem and any causes of it), it was not provided - leaving me to wonder if my dog actually did anything wrong or if the staff just didn't feel like handling another large dog in the playgroup. Additionally, our second dog was left with instructions allowing the staff to mix in canned food to his kibble if he was reluctant to eat. When I picked him up, I discovered they never did this and he went hungry on two nights... I even pointed out to the staff member where it was written (by her coworker) on his sheet and was given a response of "Oops." I tried to reach out to the owner of Doggy Office after our most recent boarding stay in hopes of getting some answers - instead, my message was never returned by them, or any staff member. The customer service for this business is horrible. Please do not take your dog here - while the prices are relatively inexpensive for the area, it is not worth having to wonder if your pet is actually been cared for once you leave. read more

TLDR: Our dog liked being social here, but got sores and became badly sick, both issues that could have been prevented by this establishment. I appreciate that this facility provides a place for dogs to be social, and ours certainly looked forward to his stays here. That said, he would routinely come back smelling worse and dirtier than when he was dropped off. Moreover, they initially kept him in a kennel that had gaps large enough for him to stick his nose out of, and so he rubbed the fur and skin off the top of his nose, leaving a lesion that didn't heal fully for several months. After that healed, we tried to give this place another shot, giving them express instructions not to put him in the kennels with the gaps, and while he did come back dirty at times because they needed to keep him in the dog run, he didn't have the sores. However, a few days after his most recent visit, HE DEVELOPED BORDETELLA. Our dog has been vaccinated for this, but apparently has a sensitivity that requires a more frequent shot schedule. Regardless, this is the only place he could have contracted this, as he doesn't have this close interaction with other dogs outside of this place, and while I don't place all the blame on the establishment, I think more vigilant staff or attention to vaccination requirements for the dogs staying there could have prevented this. We will definitely be going elsewhere from now on. read more

Love this place, and my dogs do too. We've been taking our Viktor here for the past 3 years, and I am so grateful they love him. He is not neutered, and other places won't take him - but not Doggy Office. They remember him, and welcome him with open arms. This year, we brought our new dog here, and the staff was able to accommodate our grouchy old girl. My social dog got to play with other dogs, my anti-social dog got to watch. The staff had no problems feeding my dogs their special diet, and I swear, my dogs were not thrilled to go home after a week's stay at the Doggy Office. I called the place 3 times (sorry about that), just to make sure the digs were ok, and every time the staff gave me the details and was happy to answer my questions. I am nutty like that. This is the only place I'd trust my dogs to. read more

I started taking my 2 year old lab to the Doggy Office a few months ago for day care. He actually loved it! Anywhere dogs can go play for hours with other dogs is a good day, right?! However, I have used them for boarding as well. I have boarded him there a couple times, and the last time he came home with a large sore on his butt. Not sure what that was all about. I had asked while he was there to have his nails trimmed. He was picked up form boarding by a friend, so I was not there at pick up. When I got home I noticed the large sore on his butt, and that his nails never got trimmed. No longer living in the area, bringing him over a half hour just for a nail trim on a work day is very inconvenient. I would need to leave him there for a day of day care (which already concerns me). So I had asked that they keep him for the day at no charge since it's a big inconvenience the service they charged me for was not completed. Nor did they say the nail trim wasn't completed. Instead they stated they tried to trim his nails, but he was squirmy so they didn't do it. Then why charge me?! Did they think I wouldn't notice? Then they said, "we will take him for the day at no charge, but he will have to sit in the crate all day with only being let out for bathroom breaks". Seriously?! He has to sit and watch all the dogs play and be punished because you didn't complete the service the first time? Now, I'm forced to take him for a separate nail trim to another establishment and pay again! The Doggy Office was an experience, but not one I'll take my dog to again. read more

We were in a pinch on our recent trip to Milwaukee over Labor Day weekend, from Chicago. We found a pet friendly hotel for our small dog, but quickly discovered she absolutely could not bear when all of us left the hotel room. She had major doggie anxiety and we tried many times! Do we cancel our trip or find a dog boarder nearby? Thankfully, Doggy Office came to the rescue. I could not get them on the phone to see if there was occupancy, so we drove there. (TIP: If you can go to their website and print out the 3 pages of forms that you need to fill out ahead of time and bring your rabies and other docs, it saves time.) It's $36 for a 24 hour overnight stay. They give you free wet food to add to your dry food that you bring along. Bring some toys from home and maybe a blanket. Ryan , a very nice man, greeted us and said sure there is occupancy! We were delighted! I had the forms pre-filled out. He needed the rabies and other docs from our vet in Chicago. He waited with us until they opened and had them verbally confirm the expiration dates of her shots. We left. Then he had them fax over the documents. Without his help, our trip would have been cancelled. Thank you again, Ryan! :) I called the next day to see how she was doing and they gave me a great update. She is very shy among strangers, but loves other dogs. I could tell they were gentle with her. She didn't hate them when we picked her up! When it came time to pickup our baby girl, Ally was there and helped us. When we parked, all the dogs ran up to the fence; it was adorable. Our little fluff ball was out in the yard enjoying the morning, as well. We were happy to see she was outside having fun. We paid and left. Thank you Doggy Office for saving our butts! read more

We left our dog at the Hemlock Doggy Office for 16 nights while we were on vacation. We saw her pictures on the Facebook page every day, she looked happy and like she was having a good time. When we picked her up, she was clean, well fed, and visibly well cared for. We didn't notice any behavioral changes upon her return home, which was great. We would definitely recommend Doggy Office and will be using it again. read more

I brought my boy to the Butler location for over a year with no problems. Then a few weeks ago, he was attacked by another dog and bitten 4 TIMES that required 3 trips to the vet for the wounds. The staff would not give me any information on the other dog and why it took so long for someone to intervene. They would not show me the video of the attack or give me the name of the owners of the other dog to ask if they would pay for his injuries. This begs the question...do they not have enough staff? Were the staff not paying attention? And why didn't the owner call to apologize and check up on my boy? They won't allow anyone to see where the dogs are kept in the kennels or where they play. I won't be taking my boy back there. I don't feel like he is safe. read more

We bring our Mini Australian Shepherd here any time we need boarding for vacations or weekend trips. All of the staff members are very sweet and our baby is always well taken care of. He is always excited when he sees where he is going! With his cautious, gentle temperament he does better with smaller dogs that aren't as intimidating as larger dogs. They understand this and always put him with the little dogs so he feels comfortable. We like that they post photos of the dogs on their Facebook page so you can see them playing with other dogs and enjoying themselves. This is especially helpful for peace of mind while we're away on vacation. We have even called to get an update on how he is doing while we're away and it always seems like they are very attentive & able to give us a detailed report on how he is & what he has been up to. Reasonable prices, better hours than most other places, and never have to book a ton in advance to get a spot which is great for last-minute people like us! read more

My dog was immediately well received at Hemlock Doggy Office. She is tired out after a fun day of playing with other dogs. My dog, Starr, was boarded a few times so far and doesn't show anxiety. We have a big trip coming up and I feel good about leaving Starr at Doggy Office. Daycare and boarding are available every day of the year. Dogs have set rest times and snack times. Facebook pictures are posted each day. I am so glad that I switched my dog from an uncaring daycare to one that cares. We boarded our dog at Doggy Office for two nights over the 4th of July holiday. When we went to pick her up, we discovered that her entire stomach was matted down with dry, sticky urine. Being that she is house-broken, it seems that she may have been kept in her kennel for a very long time and forced to lay in the mess. I understand that things like this happen, but the way it was handled is unacceptable. She should have been cleaned up, at the very least. Or perhaps the staff could have mentioned that she was dirty and needs a bath. I think it's fair to say that this trip will be our first and last trip to the Doggy Office. read more

I have used the Doggy Office for boarding a few times a year over the past few years with no incidents at all and it seems like a nice place. Everything was great up until the last time I had to board my dog at the Doggy Office. I called because I was having a friend pick up the dog and needed to give them a CC number. They mentioned on the phone call that my dog was involved in rough housing and had a scratch on his eye. When I got home and had a look at the dog it was more than just a scratch so I wanted to call Doggy Office and get more information about what happened. They could not give me any information at all NOTHING about the incident that happened and seemed like they did not care at all. Do not take your dog here they are very irresponsible and it sounds like no one is watching the dogs when they are out to play. That and they cannot provide any documentation on what happened to my dog. This is not acceptable at all. read more
