Does this business have the capability to design sick, dope, uber-amazing websites, ummm....sure looks like it! Spoke with the owner, he was very upfront and honest. Extremely prompt on answering emails, which was nice. The downside, I wouldn't really say this website design company is for the novice and start-up online business owners with moderate funds (less than 25k). My price quote was 50k for what I wanted. Not clueless to website design firms and graphic designers, the price was a bit astonishing. However, I can definitely imagine you get what you pay for! If I had those funds, not sure I would still spend that much. I'm sure I can find someone to take my 20k though... read more

Doejo is full of talent. My first impression was everything is right about the firm. Cool space with young designers heads down working on their various projects. The problem is the actual work done doesn't have the finish and attention to detail that one would expect at this price point. Yes they are a little less expensive than Orbit Media but they are at least in the same ballpark. I expected crisp and knowledgeful design, professionalism, attention to detail and above all good communication to understand what the customer wants. While they did deliver a website, it was 2 weeks late and required additional development time due to some basic functionality issues. This firm has amazing potential but I fear if the project is not inspiring to the Doejo team, you will receive reduced effort. Two things to note: 1. Our project manager quit halfway through our project. Some of our issues were definitely associated with this transition. 2. As mentioned above the site was delivered with some significant functionality issues. Another 2 weeks of work was required to get it to a point we could deploy and begin work on the live site to bring to to where we wanted. Initially Doejo wanted to charge us for the 2 additional weeks but in the end provided the attention without additional cost. While I perceived this to to be a failure on fixed date fixed deliverable, providing the additional 2 weeks for free was actually quite an accommodation given the signed SOW. read more

Doejo toook on the unenviable task of taking our site, www.icecreamman.com and converting it from a completely custom content management system into a more user friendly wordpress CMS. I had a terrible experience with this company. I hired them in February, 2009 to redesign and rebuild an existing website - LearningGuideNetwork.com. I gave them a document detailing the job requirements. They were supposed to come up with a more user-friendly design, add some additional functions, and make the site more search-engine compatible. The job was supposed to take two months. The price they quoted was attractive, but six month later the site was not finished. We began regular phone meetings to their coder could update us on progress. I turned out they had assigned the job to someone in Bosnia. He continually promised that the job was almost done, but never delivered. The new site ended up launching in May, 2010, more than a year later than promised. The site was incomplete, but they promised to complete the work. My site is database driven and it turned out they loaded the wrong database (one that was two years out-of-date). It took them more than a month to fix this major problem. Since launching my site's traffic has dropped by more than half and my revenue has dropped by a significantly larger amount. They never finished the job. They quit on me in August, 2010. They claimed what I wanted was "beyond the scope of the agreed upon job," but they never told me what it was I wanted that was "beyond the scope." I highly recommend avoiding this company. read more

we've worked on more than 10 projects with Doejo over the past 2 years. they've given our cash-strapped startup a killer logo, awesome packaging design, and will provide honest feedback when we float ridiculous concepts while trying to shape a project's direction. GREAT design work takes a lot of time and is almost never done properly on the first draft. If the project requires multiple skill sets, then it makes sense that you'll have multiple people helping complete the task. we've found that the price stings a little when you start, but we don't think it's a Doejo thing -- it's just the reality of stepping up into the real world of graphic design. there are plenty of options to have some random friend of a friend design something for free or for cheap, but that's not something you can build a brand on -- and not something that will be there to support your new projects as your brand grows. Doejo will give you amazing results, but they're not mind readers and not necessarily an expert in your brand's industry/field. you'll need to put in the time and effort to FULLY shape the project, get them acquainted with your brand/industry, and collaborate on adjustments to the project's direction throughout the process. The alternative to great agency work like Doejo is.... hiring 2+ design experts, incorporating them into your culture, teaching them your company's mission/goals, and having them tackle all your design/web projects. to do that at the level of Doejo would probably cost $200,000+ every year. read more

The Doejo team is not an everyday web design group. There needs to be far more words in the description of their offering. There are more pricey companies are out there that will take up lots of your bucks spending time just figuring out your brand. I know this. When I've asked about actual development work that follows on from the brand I get the same response over and over, "Oh, we have people who do that." Somehow, I suspect that means people elsewhere (read = money). I've talked to a number of web design and marketing companies. They all start with a description of hours of time (read = money) on developing your brand character, your positioning, your vision and more. All good stuff but in my mind, that's like using DOS in a web2.0 world. The Doejo team "listened" to me talk through my ideas - had me go away and draw pictures - then listened some more and then we got to work. This company has some of the worst customer service. I could barely get in touch with someone who could actually talk about web design. They had me leaving messages and no one would return my call. I kept at it, because of their great reviews. (I wouldn't doubt that the yelp reviews are just a marketing ploy). I finally got in touch with a rep, and they told me to email them the idea and I did. No response for days. Sent a followup, and got a response that they would get back to me shortly. A few more followups over the course of 2 weeks, and never got any info back. This company is BS. Dont waste your time or your ideas by sending it to this SCAM. This is my first review on Yelp. These guys wasted my time so bad, that I was compelled to create an account so that no one else falls for these bogus reviews. read more

We have worked with Doejo for more than a year and they have managed every aspect of the development of our website. Our project was nothing short of complex. We used them to develop an e-commerce, membership based website with a lot of additional functionality. They have been able to handle everything.
