I had come here previously to get a rapid Covid test during the height of the pandemic when they were not available over the counter, and those appointments were fairly straightforward because they were covered under the government's emergency funding, but when I had to come here for other medical issues, I have had a nightmarish time dealing with the billing department of this organization, who is incredibly slow to get in contact with you, files claims incorrectly, sends emails and texts that have broken links and when they don't get paid due to their own incompetence, threaten to send you to collections. Even when you contact them for clarification, they take forever to get back to you. The group was also involved in a Medicare and Medicaid fraud case where they had to settle with the government due to submission of false claims. Showed up to my Covid appointment exactly on time, and the doors were locked, the lights were off, and there was not a single soul inside. I called the mainline to see what the deal was, and they told me I could simply drive 30 to 45 minutes to a different location and just walk in. When I had symptoms that were present. Absolutely appalled by these business practices. I ended up going to quest diagnostics and they have my results back within six hours. Do not go to this business. Save your time and your money and go somewhere that actually knows how to be professional. read more

I went for a rapid COVID test on Friday. I was told I would have the results in two hours. I looked at their site as directed and there weren't any results. I called Saturday morning only to discover that they are closed on Weekends. Because I did not have results, I missed a family party. I tried calling on Monday, but couldn't get through. It is now Tuesday and still no results I would not recommend the Hamden DOCS. read more

My son woke up with a painful ear infection. This was the closest urgent care open on a Sunday. When we arrived, the waiting room was empty so we thought it wouldn't be a long wait. We were very wrong. We spent a total of 2 hours waiting before we saw a doctor!! When the doctor finally came, it was on an ipad by teleheath!!! The medical assistant had a fancy device to look in my son's ears with a camera so the doctor could see. So at least there was that. She prescribed medicine for his ear infection. But he has also had a bad cough for over a week and runny nose. They didn't check for COVID. I'm quite angry that a doctor never physically saw my son. She didn't look in his throat or listen to his lungs. We waited 2 hrs, and no one even put a stethoscope to his chest. Unbelievable!!! read more

My primary doc told me they were referring patients here for Covid testing. Just walk in. When I got there I was told that they now required an appointment, which you make online. (no one ever answers a phone there.) I was shown instructions on the wall which showed how to do it. But, I was told, the web site was down and I'd have to keep trying to get in and reserve a slot. I tried for the better part of the day and finally got an appointment at 7:10 PM. Drove over again and found the door locked with a sign taped on the door saying they closed at 4. Obviously some glitches in their system, taking appointments when they're not open. I'll find another way. Covid testing shouldn't be this hard 9 months into the Pandemic. read more

This place is a mess. You literally cannot get through to anyone by phone. Have to go in person. Went in for a covid test. Had to ask for the PCR. Was given no information as to how to get my results and then told that I was told I had to come back once I finally did after waiting patiently for a call. When you call, you're directed to a text messaging system which would be great if you ever got a response. I was told I would get a call for pcr results. Over a week later, no call, couldn't get through by phone, couldn't get a response from the text line, so I went in person when work would allow and sure enough my results had just been sitting there for 5 days. If I could give zero stars I would. I was there yesterday for a rapid covid test. It was clear I was an inconvenience to the receptionist, although the place was empty. The room where my test was performed, by said receptionist, as I doubt she was a nurse, was littered with an overflowing garbage can of used tests, as well as several with people's names clearly attached, and mine would be next. Know that there is no privacy and forget HIPA. If I didn't have covid then, I'm afraid I may have caught it there, no pun intended. It was filthy. I never received my results and 4 hours later I found myself returning to request a hard copy, again being an inconvenience in an empty office. read more

They lost my covid test Friday had to go back on Monday to get it done again. Also they called me with results and said they will log the results on the website wich they never did called 4 times and they never picked up I was on hold for 10 to 15 minutes each call just to get them to send me the results so I can print them out for my son's school. This office is so unprofessional the Tall Black women who does test is very rude. They dont get back to you at all with results open covid test laying around from previous patient dont do it unless you want to just test positive this should be imspectwd by health department ASAP. Rating would be a zero if it was an option. As a registered nurse of 10 years, and working in a doctors office for 6, I'd like to think that I have more than a general understanding of the way an office works along with policies, especially HIPAA policies. I have been in contact with this office along with a district manager over the course of the past week and I cannot believe the treatment I have received. To make a long story short, I was originally listed on my family members release form, to confirm visits and such. I called to verify an appointment on 10/25, and was told I was no longer able to receive information as the release had been changed. Once I spoke with my family member, he told me the release was changed and I was able to again confirm his appointments. I spoke with Anthony in the office and he told me he received the new release and that the appointment on October 25 did Indeed happen. I found out yesterday that it didn't actually happen, nor was the release updated. So, I was given false information regarding a family member's treatment (without a proper release in place) by Anthony. I then was spoken to like a 4 year old by a district manager by the name of Daniela. When I had the feeling I was being lied to about my family members medical treatment, I reached out to Daniela, hoping for a compassionate human being, that might hear me out and relay pertinent information regarding my family member to the correct doctor, since I knew without a proper release in place, I couldn't actually get any information about his treatment (nor was I trying to.) After being scolded and threatened that my family members file would be "locked" and only he would be able to make changes to his release (which I was aware of and knew was the case when I called) she failed to take the patients name or date of birth, she just kept repeating that she was going to have to end the call. Now tell me how, a district manager, promises to relay important and potentially life/death information to a doctor of a patient she doesn't even know the name of?! I have never known a medical facility to run so poorly and still manage to be in business. If you value your medical information and your HIPAA rights, avoid this place. I can't speak for any of the other offices as I know there are a ton in CT, but I can tell you the treatment both my family member and I have received has been nothing short of appalling. read more

Had to get a rapid COVID test and yes the wait was long but the staff is handling a very stressful situation incredibly well. You can wait in your car until they call you and you're in and out of the actual office very quickly to reduce any exposure time. Health care staff is really going above and beyond right now. I was there half an hour before they opened and was first in line, was out with results about 40 minutes after they opened. read more

Every visit I have made to DOCS in Hamden has ended terribly. I was seen by a "doctor" who turned out to be a Rx, who prescribed the wrong medicine, which actually made my condition worse, and who claimed that I would need surgery, which terrified me but was not true. She was not even capable of doing her job, and had some kind of big stain on her shirt (her name is Emma Chery.) I had a culture done, and the results took several weeks, but the clinic never contacted me. I called them back weeks after that and was told I should come in immediately due to the results. They had referred me to a specialist, but didn't actually put out the referral properly and I had to call them repeatedly to get anything done. The next doctor I saw told me all of that diagnosis had been wrong, and told me to simply "take epsom baths with baking soda." This was Doctor Ro. He told me I should take antibiotics, but refused to prescribe them because of his views on the pharmaceutical industry. He then referred me to a specialist (which I needed, since the epsom salt and baking soda were useless and not covered by insurance,) but two weeks later I found the specialist had not been contacted at all. read more

I've been to this urgent care twice and was happy both times. First time for myself, second time for my fiance. Most recently, we walked in around 7:45PM (they close at 8). I appreciated the fact that they did not act bothered at all by our late visit and I truly believe the care provided by Dr. Perry was just as good as it was for a patient who he might have seen in the beginning of the day. The visit was not rushed, staff was friendly. He assured us that we made the right choice by coming in. Best of all, we avoided an emergency room visit! Thanks! read more
