I was here with a group of Americans back in July 2018. We have a tradition of eating at this place…read moreevery summer. It is one of the best restaurants in Litomerice and I would recommend it to everyone. The inside portion of the restaurant is in a cave so you descend a few levels below street level to find an interesting ambience of modern restaurant meets medieval tunnels. Menus are in Czech, German, and English and the translations are pretty good. Most of the entrees are around 250-300 crowns (around $12-15) and the beer (Pilsner Urquell = Cz "Prazdroj") is on draft. People in my group get the schnitzel and the baked chicken usually and I have had no complaints from anyone about it. They also have a steak tartar that we always get for the table to share. Desserts are good too. Service has always been good. I do recommend getting a reservation if you have a group bigger than say 4 or 5 because the tables are small. They also have outdoor dining that overlooks the city square. Litomerice is an excellent place to hang out and have a meal. Highly recommend this place.

I don't know if it was lost in translation, but I really wanted to try that. I was very hungry and did not feel like making a fish about what I ordered. I mean the waitress did not speak English at all. I ordered by pointing and nodding. The beer was good, the dumpling were good, there as a smaller than usual portion of sirloin in my opinion.

TLDR: there are better options for food and beer. I came here because the reviews were excellent,…read morehowever, I wasn't the biggest fan. We ordered the beef cheeks, which were served cold (likely as intended but not what I was expecting). Flavor was fine but not great. The burger was also just okay. For something so standard, it was passable but not likely to order again. Our favorite dishes were 1) the duck and 2) potato and vegetable patties. Duck was crispy, hot, and had pretty good flavor! The vegetable patties were also crispy and balanced, slightly sweet. The beer list was limited but we liked what we ordered. Hate to be a broken record but we've had better while in the city. Wouldn't recommend this place to a friend since it was just average.

See my review of the sister restaurant "next door" we went to two days earlier…read moreYea, it is worth the hype. For what you are getting coming out of the US this is a deal. Great atmosphere, perfect service, waiter did great job staring me To a local Merlot that was fantastic, musty, slightly tannic, 1100 crowns. I had braised rabbit in a mustard cream sauce, wife had braised veal cheeks which apparently on of the most popular. Beef tartar for app which perfect French bread toast. 3500 crowns all in, was way more than worth it. You need to make reservations in advance. We had to work to get in at 8:30 three days before- and we went on a Monday night. Chef apparently has a local CZ show which makes him celebrity. Strongly recommend
