We booked via third party which price wise was great but a little bit more confusing. Leading up to the trip we were asked for booking information we were never given. After a couple emails back and forth I think we solved the problem. Once we arrived to the terminal it was easy to check in with the gate agent and then get onto the boat. Our bags were not search before getting on board and we were able to get on the boat a little early. Once on the boat there was a couple of dining options. We ate at the Italian restaurant first and little to no complains. For dinner we did the steak house and honestly it was a let down. Fairly expensive and mediocre food, I would not recommend it. I think next time we would do the buffet or the Italian restaurant again. The room was small, and slightly different than the photos but it did the job. For a quick trip we couldn't ask for much more. I think I enjoyed breakfast the most- highly recommend! If you are going to book you might as well book a nice room because it includes the breakfast. We paid about $160 for two people in a large room which felt like a good deal. There are a ton of cheaper options on the boat if you are looking for a cheaper option.

The Oslo Central Station is about a 1/4 mile walk or half mile at most. Could take a taxi there as there are no Metros to get there. Or you can walk but would be tough with luggage.

Any tram line seems to intersect in this major central junction of busses and trams. And you are deep into the center of Oslo, so much surrounds you. The employees all speak English, along with many other languages. You get a number and wait your turn. The employees will give you suggestions, maps and other handouts that will be useful for your stay in Oslo. This should be one of your first tourist destinations.

Being anywhere you're not familiar with can be a little unnerving, especially if that place is a…read moreforeign country, fortunately, the Oslo Visitor Centre, located, right next to the train station, makes your travel experience more than pleasant. I stopped here twice: 1. If you want an Oslo Pass which can be purchased in increments of 24/48 hours, you can purchase them right at the Visitor Centre, instead of purchasing in advance. 2. I needed to exchange money- I had Swedish Kroner, not Norwegian Kroner, ask questions about a tour I was on, and confirmed the location of the places I was visiting that day. Things to note: - Make sure to press the button to take a number, if not, you'll be waiting awhile. - Go first thing in the morning when they open. My first experience went much quicker since I was on of the first people there. - Make sure the guides you are using are in your native language. - They do not charge a fee to exchange monies. - There is free wifi in the Centre. If it's your first time in Oslo, this is definitely a place you'll want to visit, if not frequent to ensure you have an amazing time in this wonderful place.
