The 3D design they showed us before starting really helped us feel confident about the choices we were making. And the finished product looked almost exactly like the rendering. That kind of accuracy is rare. Great team, great communication, great results. 5 stars!!

I am *really* fussy about hiring contractors. So many of them conduct their business sloppily and…read moreunprofessionally I can't believe they stay in business at all. So I do my research and am VERY selective in who I hire when our house needs work. My wife and I hired Andy Fernandes and Adval and they proved to be the real deal. Andy was *always* prompt - every time he or anyone from his company was scheduled to arrive they arrived early. Andy and his crew were communicative, clearly very knowledgeable, and straightforward, which is to say that they told me *and showed me* what was really happening and not what they wanted to promise or what they thought we wanted to hear. And they followed through exactly as they said they would. The quality of their work was outstanding. We had a few kitchen cabinets that had gotten damaged by the 2014 Napa quake and were looking like they were going to fall off the wall. Andy sent over a master carpenter (he spent years building stuff for moneyed people on Martha's Vineyard, who can be quite demanding) who didn't "upsell" us by telling us one of the cabinets needed to be rebuilt (the build cabinet in their own shop), he showed us in detail exactly what the problem was and convinced skeptical me that a new cabinet built from real plywood instead of the particle board of the cabinets the flipper who sold us the house had installed was the way to go. They reused the facing from the old cabinets, so the match was immaculate. Price-wise, yeah, they weren't the cheapest I could have found, but they were most definitely not close to the high end, they were right in the ballpark, and I figure if I demand quality I have to be wiling to pay for it. And we most decidedly got what we paid for. I repeat again that I am VERY picky about contractors, but I unhesitatingly give Adval Construction my highest recommendation. Our job was pretty small, but I would hire them for a big job in a heartbeat. This is the way construction contracting is supposed to work.

I saw all of these 5 star reviews for Home Quality Remodeling and I thought 'they seem too good to…read morebe true'. We interviewed 4 companies for our project; which was a bedroom refresh (including removing popcorn from the ceiling) and a full bathroom remodel. All of the companies were around the same as far as cost for what we wanted on the bathroom. One of the companies didn't seem to want the bedroom part of the project and were really over charging for it. One of the representatives couldn't seem to keep times and dates straight, so we were down to two companies. We have never done a remodeling project like this and I had A LOT of questions. Shay at Home Quality Remodeling took the time to answer the many questions that I had, and he came back multiple times to lay out what we wanted. He was low pressure and patient, and he really seemed to want the business. So we went with him. Shay spent a lot of time explaining processes that I didn't really understand...I'm sure that I tried his patience more than a few times. Like many people, we went into this remodel project imagining all of the things that can go wrong and an idealized version of what we wanted. While there were a few hiccups, everything was completed ahead of schedule and totally to our satisfaction. The team who was on site doing all of the work were courteous and helpful. They cleaned up often and thoroughly and were willing to do more than required to make sure that the job was up to their exacting requirements. When all is said and done, we are very happy with the final result and wouldn't hesitate to have these guys do more work in the future. So I am adding to the five star review-although some of the processes were a challenge, the end result deserves no less than five stars I am somewhat embarrassed with the before pictures, you don't really see how bad things are until you see the improvement - from a 30 year old raising three boys beat the hell out of it bathroom to the new, luxurious bathroom that we have now.

I reached out to HQR cold a few months back, considering a significant remodel with a rough idea of…read morewhat we wanted to do. I chose three contractors for a first consultation. Ron at HQR was the best by far. Very consultative and clear about what was possible, his recommendations (not just ideas that could jack up the price) and the process. During the consult, we discussed some prior kitchen remodel work that we had done by another contractor. We had a subfloor issue that was causing bouncing in the floor under kitchen island that the prior contract refused to fix. Ron gave his assessment and immediately said he was going to have his crew fix no charge. His offer was not tied to us selecting HQR for the bigger remodel project. Ron sent Steven to assess the work that week. Steven was very helpful understanding the scope of the subfloor fix, what needed to be done, and how long it would take. He was prompt with his quote, accommodating with our schedule and his crew did an excellent job and finished in one day. While we consider our larger remodel later this year, this experience with Ron and Steven have HQR at the top of our list for contractors to partner with.

We INSIST !! ..... let CK Construction do your remodel / construction projects!!…read moreMy wife and I hired Chris K. earlier this year to do our full kitchen remodel (tear-out from the studs all the way to final, new kitchen) Simply put, this general contractor has it all: Always operates in a professional manner, he's trustworthy, flexible, detailed, highly skilled, cleans up, organized, AND shows up on-time & communicates well. Even his sub-contractors (workers, electricians, countertop stone pros, etc.) are just as skilled and reliable as he is. Oh... and his pricing is quite fair too! We are VERY happy customers.. not only with the final outcome, but with the entire process.... made possible & lead by CK Construction. We'll be hiring them again next year for our next project. If you're looking, CK Construction is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

He replied that he had a backlog of a month or so, and to go ahead and get the stairs delivered and he would reach out if he got an opening in the meantime, and to follow up in a few weeks. After having the stairs sitting in my garage for a month, followed up and was again told it would be a few more weeks and he would reach out. Well, it's been six months and I became concerned that the warranty on the stairs would expire before I even got them installed. Ended up giving up on the endless wait and having someone else solve the problem.
