My vehicle broke down at about 4pm on a Friday during winter…read morehours (while many shops in the area are open limited hours); I thought I could fix it myself, so I walked to a parts store and purchased the parts, only to find that I would need special tools I didn't have access to. By that time, it was almost 6pm, but when I called W&J, they answered the phone, and told me that they could have a mechanic look at my vehicle within about 20 minutes. True to their word, they fit me into their schedule, and I was back up and running by 7:30pm. The mechanics (two of them!) that worked on my vehicle were very friendly and professional. Although they advertise themselves as an 'oil change and tire repair' shop, they are extremely knowledgeable on general automotive repair. To top it all off, the bill was incredibly low; I can't believe they can stay in business with rates that affordable. If I lived anywhere near Custer, this company would be my primary mechanic shop.

But I didn't want them fixed. Had to pay for those. Didn't learn my lesson. Brought my other car in for 2 brake pads. They went ahead and replaced all of the brakes which cost $600 altogether. We were on vacation in the area for a week. We had a problem with our Land Cruisers front end, we…read morehad broken some studs on a trail while out exploring. Im a mechanic and fabricator and normally don't let anyone touch my ring but me but I only had a basic set of hand tools with me, no drills or bits, no jack stands, nothing I needed to make the repairs so I had little choice. I thought we had lucked out when we found Wesdak, they said they could take a look at it and possibly bandaid it back together while i got the right parts coming. They started the work, while they were working I was on the phone getting the right parts ordered. We went back and forth on a plan. They were going to make it safe to drive while the stud kit came. I spent $250 getting the right parts next day aired from LA. I went to install the studs only to find out they had run the wrong bolts in with an impact gun, ruining the threads and any chance I had of saving the knuckle. I had to pay someone else to weld the knuckle in place so we could continue our trip safely. I called the shop, I left a message for the owner, the mechanic called me, he was very apologetic and said "they" would make it right by giving me a partial refund to cover the cost of the new knuckle $250. I was out $650 at that point. To shorten this up. I never received anything from them, repeated phone calls and texts have gone unreturned. The owner never even had the guts to call me, he made his mechanic do it. I appreciated their willingness to help me out but the attention to detail wasn't anywhere close being that this was a critical part of the steering. Their welding looked ok, but I would avoid them for mechanical work. They don't stand behind their work and won't return phone calls if you have a problem.
