Definitely good music selections. He knows how read and work the crowd to get the party started! Will book him again for future events

I hired him as my DJ but he is a really good MC as well. highly recommended for large parties or even small gatherings!

Steven was the dj for our wedding. He's super sweet, punctual and he mixes songs together. Our friends and family had so much fun dancing. He's responsive to emails. His prices were affordable as well. I recommend hiring him!!! read more

What can I say... this guy - amazing! Steven is very responsive, kind, and receptive to his clients' ideas and needs. We booked in 2019 for our 2020 wedding and unfortunately had to postpone. Through it all, he was patient and remained positive while I was stressed out of my mind trying to replan my wedding in 2021. He is so easy to work with so I am very glad I hired him to provide both DJ (and emcee) and photo booth services for my wedding. And boy, what a hit! I didn't expect for my guests to immediately hit the dance floor when the dance floor opened up. I guess everyone missed dancing when pandemic forced everyone to shelter in place for some time lol. What helped was the excellent music selection that got people moving! Another hit was the photo booth!! Holy moly!! So I wanted to incorporate The Office tv show theme into our wedding and Steven made it happen! I created a photo booth layout template and sent it over to him. He had set up a green screen as the backdrop, and once the prints came out - you see Michael Scott's office in the background!! HA! NICE!!! That means you can let your imagination go wild!! I provided my own The Office themed props: cheese balls, prison Mike bandanas, dundies, etc. If you have an idea for a background for your photo booth desires, then Steven can make them come true!! When we're ready to throw another big party, we know who to contact. Love you, man!! read more

Steven was the DJ for our wedding ceremony and reception. He was very professional and easy to work with. I provided him with list of artists, songs, and the vibe/mood I wanted throughout the day while giving him freedom to do his thing, and throw his own flare to it. He was accommodating with our Korean Tea Ceremony. Quick with sending over the audio recordings. Usually at weddings, it's really a hit or miss with getting guests on the dance floor. Luckily there was no problem at our reception. Steven played all the right hits and got everyone out of their seats. Our dance floor was packed, our guests literally danced until the restaurant turned the lights on us. He's great, so if you are looking for a DJ for your wedding or event, give him a ring! read more

DJ Steven was great to work with! We decided to hire him for our wedding per our friend's recommendation (he was also their wedding DJ several years back!). We had to postpone our wedding in April 2020 twice and each time Steven was very understanding and flexible. He maintained great communication during the whole planning process and would check in on us periodically. We filled out the template he provided with songs and artists we liked, but we gave him a lot of freedom to do this own thing. On the wedding day, he arrived on time and had everything set up prior to the ceremony. Everything went smoothly, I heard all our favorite songs, and he accommodated all our needs. There were no hiccups at all (no microphone feedback, music was a good volume-not too loud, etc.). We provided a wedding timeline and he followed it without issues. We were actually ahead of schedule for our wedding and he adapted quickly and made adjustments as needed. Thank you so much Steven for everything!! Highly recommend Steven to DJ any event! read more

Steven was our DJ and he also provided the photobooth service as well. Everything was exceptional! He worked so well and closely with me all the days before to ensure he got everything ready to go. On the day, there were some small things that did not go according to plan, he knew immediately and adjusted the music accordingly for us and I really appreciate that! Everyone had a blast with the music and it was such a good time! Also the photobooth is a big hit at my wedding! Everyone LOVEEEEE it! Highly recommend his service for all of your party needs!!! read more

Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness, Value It was a great experience. I did my wedding with Arete Events. Steven was excellent. He provided everything we needed. He emcee'd for me. He brought all the amazing dj equipment from lights to tables. He took some great photo booth photos. Left nothing to be asked for. The photo booth gave extra photos too. Plus he made everything available online. After the event we got a link to all of our photos. Loved the experience. His system is awesome. I would recommend him to anyone. Thanks! read more

Steven was AWESOME! We hired him to DJ a large event for our organization...he did not disappoint! His music choice was perfect, his ability to connect with the audience was more than we could have ever asked for. People left our event talking so highly about our DJ! Our team would HIGHLY recommend Steven for any event! Thank you Steven!! read more

We booked Steven Le as our wedding DJ and also rented a selfie station set up from him. Steven was one of our favorite vendors to work with throughout wedding planning. He was so chill, professional, and responsive. We spoke to several DJs before we chose Steven and he was definitely the best one by far. Our wedding was just a few weeks ago, and we have nothing negative to say about his work. Our group of wedding guests, like most others, is very diverse. I only had less than 10 family members in attendance, but my biggest priority was to find a DJ who could speak Vietnamese so they could pronounce my family members' names correctly and understand their personalities. My husband's family is very energetic, outgoing, and traditional American, so we also wanted someone modern. We also had a lot of friends who were a mix of introverts and extroverts with different personalities, so we also wanted someone adaptable. We needed a great DJ who could understand the diverse crowd and he did not disappoint. The contract and booking process was super easy to navigate. I sent him so many emails with questions and requests leading up to the wedding, and he addressed each one very promptly. Among the concerns were taking no crowd requests since we were nervous about the personality and music style clashes, and he fulfilled that request. He also worked closely with the singer of our first dance, a close friend of mine, to ensure that timing and the tune were perfect. The first dance was a hit. During the wedding, one of my bridesmaids and my husband's sister, gave a speech which included a blurb about the Backstreet Boys. Steven heard that and he played 5 Backstreet Boys songs in a row. The dance floor was never empty at any point during open dancing, but it was really poppin after that. Our crowd absolutely loved him and was chanting, "one more song" at the end of the night. If you're looking for an easy going, communicative, and professional DJ, look no further than Steven Le! read more

My husband and I first met Steven as a DJ at our friends' wedding in 2019. When it came time for our wedding in 2020, Steven was at the top of our list for DJs (and MCs) because we had a great time with him at our friends' wedding. We happily booked with Steven and he was super nice and accommodating as we rescheduled our wedding a couple of times because of COVID. At the wedding, Steven totally delivered in many regards. He is timely, easy to work with, professional, and fun! It was great having an MC who could also speak Vietnamese for our families, too. As expected, we weren't able to follow the timeline perfectly, but Steven did not seem to be stressing (at least to me lol) and made it all flow effortlessly. We gave Steven a list of songs we wanted to hear throughout the night, and he turned it into the best playlist and made our wedding so fun from cocktail hour to the lights turning on. To be honest, when it came to dancing at night, I wanted it to feel like the Bay Area clubs I had been missing for over a year, and he did not disappoint lol. Everyone had the best time - he even got the babies dancing! My friends' wedding was much tamer and my wedding was quite the opposite, but at both events, Steven set the tone the couples wanted and made sure everyone had a good time. This is all to say I would highly recommend Steven as your DJ for any event! I would hire him again in a heartbeat. read more

Steven DJed for my wedding in May. My husband and I were very happy with his services. He had templates for songs that I didn't even think we would need that slotted in special announcements, etc. I really enjoyed working with Steven because he was always professional and prompt in communication and whenever he committed to being some place. He came out to the venue 2x before the wedding date, and he made sure to work with our videographers seamlessly. In a nutshell: He's great. Don't hesitate in hiring him! :) read more

We heard of Steven through our cousin and decided to book him for our wedding ceremony and reception because of his quick email responses and decent rates. Of all our vendors, he was probably the best communicator, which was a nice surprise. The questionnaires he sent helped a lot with outlining the timeline for our wedding day. He went out of his way to drop off some of his equipment at the reception venue the night before, knowing that there was little time in between the ceremony and reception for him to set up. The songs for the ceremony went smoothly. He even stayed a bit to help with announcing groups to take photos afterwards (which we did not ask him to do) even though he was in a rush to get to the reception to set up. He helped with all the wedding party entrance songs and finding the right places of where the songs should start and end. Despite having a couple minor hiccups (it was hard for the back half of the room to hear because of the lack of speakers in the back, and a good effort with announcing some family names in Vietnamese), Steven did a great job DJing our wedding from start to end. I have heard many wedding DJ horror stories so I was glad everything worked out, and truly appreciate all of Steven's efforts! read more

Steven was amazing to work with! Communication is super important with any vendor just to make sure things are kept on track, and Steven nailed it! I had a lot of adjustments to my music choices/scheduling and he was very accommodating to me. We emailed 3 days before the wedding, back and forth, and he replied very quickly which I appreciated. He also was able to add a lighting request last minute because I realized our dance room didn't have any fun lights. He provides wireless microphones for the officiant and groom so everyone can be heard. All my friends/family really enjoyed DJ Steven's service for my wedding and I would definitely recommend him to my friends in their future wedding :) Thank you, DJ Steven!! read more

Steven is seriously the BEST DJ you'll be able to find! First and foremost, he's professional, organized, and on time, all of which are equally important for weddings. He is also surprisingly really affordable for providing a quality service, especially when compared to other DJs. I had absolutely zero complaints about working with Steven, and would highly recommend him to everyone looking for a DJ. As for the music, all 300 guests at my wedding really loved all the songs he played! We gave him a general idea of what song genres we liked (90's pop, old school R&B, etc.) and he executed perfectly. After the wedding, all our guests continually commented that the music was so good that they needed Steven's playlist! Everyone was singing along through the night, but once we opened up the dance floor, Steven was able to get everyone pumped and kept the dance floor going until the very end. He also honored our song requests and did not play the ones we didn't want, which we really appreciated because it showed he really cared about our requests. Also, Steven's set-up is well organized and looks great with a cool lighted screen to cover up all the equipment and wiring, which helps so much with aesthetics. If you're looking for a wedding DJ, Steven is your guy! read more

Steven is an awesome DJ! i hired him for some house parties and he did an AWESOME job! He was very accommodating with the music we wanted to play. He was very flexible with last minute changes. He is very professional and has a very positive attitude. Of course when you are at a party or any party, you probably want to dance to one of your favorite songs. Although you should never question the dj at what he/she is playing because you are not the dj, but Steven has a positive attitude and would fulfill a lot of requests that comes in. At the end of the night, everyone had a great time. He blends the music really well! Remember to tell him what you would like him to play at your event! and put in all those special requests ahead of time! Great and talented DJ and if anybody ask which DJ they should hire for their party, events or wedding -- DJ EVEN STEVEN is your go to guy! Thank you DJ EVEN STEVEN for all those awesome music and get the party cracking! read more

I've hired Steven to play for a bunch of college kids and for a bunch of old people who wanted to hear really crappy music. He is accommodating, professional and flexible enough to give great service in either context and probably any in between. He shows up on time, knows his stuff and is great to work with. He even did a great job of pretending to like that super lame 70's garbage, the oldsters were grooving to it with him. Come to think of it, it's possible he sincerely enjoyed that music. I'd have to take away a star if so. read more

Steven is a great DJ. I hired him for my student org's winter dance (UCSC Represent!) He was great at djing and played all the old school and top 40 hits. Everyone had a great time and the feedback I got from the music was more than amazing. He does song requests and provides his own equpment. I remember my friends even saying he djs better than the spot we use to go at in downtown Santa Cruz. He blends the music well and the beats always flow nicely together. I have 2 CDs from him that I treasure the most. Off the record - as a humanitarian, he sold these CDs to make profit for Hurricane Katrina. I couldn't ask for a better DJ. I hope to hire him at my wedding. Thanks Steven, I appreciate your talent and providing us with great music. read more

I hired Steven to DJ at my brother's wedding. He did a great job! he was really patient and easy going. During the most special day of someone's life, having positive people around is the most important thing. Steven was not only had a great attitude but he was very patient and flexible with last minute changes. I have booked previous DJs that demanded a lot (food, water, etc..) but Steven never asks for anything. I also hired Steven for a non-profit party I was hosting back November of 2011. He immediately accepted the offer b/c it was to benefit my friend that was fighting against cancer at the time. He was very punctual and presentable. Everyone gave me positive feedbacks about Steven: "The DJ is soo awesome!" "He knows how to move the crowd" & "He doesn't mind us requesting songs." Besides these two events, he also helped me with a few small events I hosted a while back. Steven comes off a bit quiet but he has good work ethics! I would recommend him to my friends if they decide to throw any events! read more

DJ Evensteven is so chill and a professional. If you're looking for a DJ, choose DJ Evensteven! I contacted him to DJ my wedding about 6 months in advance. We are very lucky that we booked him because he handled business smoothly (contract, deposit, and remaining payment). He also checked in with me prior to the wedding several times. He's a professional who follows up and makes sure we're all set. At our wedding reception, he went with the day's itinerary, played a great set of songs that catered to all age groups (he kindly took many song requests too!), and took over for our MC when we danced the night away. I wish I had another event because I'll definitely want to book him again! read more

Dj EvENsTeVeN! He will rock your socks off when he spins! When I worked at a restaurant and they had hired him to Dj on a few nights, I'd feel more like Im partying than I am working. No minute goes to lame or boredom. (even songs i hate, say whaaaaat?), He knows how to mix. He's got such a variety, I LOVE IT! so many Dj's only stick with main stream and popular songs... please, we got the radio for that plenty. Not to mention, most others only know how to RE-PEAT... The way he can juggle up throw backs and some of the greatest hits that most have almost forgotten! Dont you worry, Steven will refresh your music memories. This guy... so legit. read more

We hired Steven as our wedding DJ last September and he was great!! We had our wedding at SF City Hall and for those aren't familiar with the venue, it is a formal site which requires all vendors to have insurance and adhere to strict rules. However, Steven did a great job making sure that all his equipment was insured and approved to make our lives that much easier when planning our wedding. throughout the wedding, people kept complimenting our DJ and a number of guests even asked for contact information. Steven helped cue us for the first dance song, the bouquet toss, slideshows, and all kept the entire evening going smoothly. He even helped MC parts of the evening! But the best part was the recordings he provided - without ever being ask to, Steven had recorded the entire audio for our wedding. This really set him apart from any other DJ we've heard of and we feel so lucky to have this special token from our wedding. Our wedding day would not have happened with Steven - I highly recommend his services and hope that in the future I may work with him again! Donald read more

Steven was the DJ at our wedding in Santa Cruz at the end of August. Everything went very well: He came on time and the music was great. We had requested some international songs and he played them without issues. He is very responsive to emails, generally replies back within minutes. He is very organized; he sent us a two-page long document to keep track of what to play at which moment in the wedding (entrance of the groom/bride, cake cutting, etc.). He met with us a couple of weeks before the wedding to make sure everything is in order. In short, if you are thinking of working with him, do not hesitate for a minute. He is great. read more

We hired Steven for our wedding day on 07/29/2017. He was super easy to work with throughout the entire process and even had suggestions on songs, games for the wedding, etc. Every instruction that I had put on his questionnaire/request log was fulfilled (even last minute requests) and there were no hiccups. He got everyone on the dance floor and remembered to remind the guests to take photos at the photobooth. I had a great experience working with Steven and could not recommend him enough for any DJ-ing event. read more

Steven was an awesome DJ at my wedding. Everything went smoothly, the music was great, and he was very accommodating for us. Steven is so easy to work with and is very responsive, which I appreciated. He's professional and easy-going, and it felt great knowing I had one less thing to worry about on our wedding day. If you want to book a DJ and move on to other wedding planning, he's your guy! Our wedding day was amazing, and Steven did a wonderful job of working with our wedding party to stay on track (pun intended) and keep the timeline of the day flowing. Plus, his impeccable taste of music was great! He played precisely what we had in mind without us providing him with an entire playlist. I would definitely recommend working with Steven! read more

Steven was our Dj for our wedding a few days ago. He did an awesome job, from the first time i emailed him, he was very responsive. He even met me and my fiance at our venue to do a tour and see where things will be. He is very helpful with our song selections. We also requested to add a projector and screen last minute for our hashslider, and he enteretained our request. Fast forward to our wedding day, everything went well. My guests loved the music, the dance floor was never empty. I was dancing non stop lol thank you so much Steven for being our DJ! read more

I had DJ Evensteven do my birthday a couple years ago. He played a lot of great music and didn't drown out the music with excessive talking or air horns/sound effects. I didn't even have to make any requests as he read the party and knew exactly what to play and when. When everything was all done, I found out he recorded the gig and he gave me a copy. Now I got myself my very own birthday mix. I don't think it could get any better than that. I will definitely hire him again. read more

DJ Steven was at our wedding on August 20, 2016 at the Los Altos History Museum. He did an amazing job! We didn't want our first dance to be super long, so he was able to cut a verse from the song and make it sound flawless. He is extremely professional and worked very well with my wedding coordinator to make sure that all the songs we wanted for our processional, recessional and grand entrance were available. I let Steven pick all the songs for the evening dancing as I just wanted songs to get people out on the dance floor and he picked a great variety that people enjoyed. My little cousins danced the night away. Also, I just want to let everyone know that Steven is super honest. I accidentally wrote Steven a check for more than the balance. He emailed me and let me know. If Steven deposited the check, I wouldn't have blinked an eye because I thought that was the amount I owed him. He didn't have to do that, but he did and that goes a long way in my book. I would highly recommend Steven for your wedding and special events needs! read more

All my husband and I wanted for our wedding reception was a DJ who was down to earth, easy to talk to, and talented. We got that in Steven! My husband and I recently hired Steven as our DJ for our wedding at Brownstone Gardens in Oakley, CA. Considered it's quite far from San Jose, he still arrived early to make sure everything works. His rate is affordable for the great service he provided!! Steven is so easy to work with and respond so promptly regarding everything! My husband and I threw in a last minute surprise for our first dance, and Steven was able to put it together the same day I sent him an email about it! My husband and I picked out several songs for each part of our wedding, and he took care of the rest. The guests loved all his selections! I got so, so many compliments on the music. I booked DJ Even Steven for my wedding a couple weeks ago and he did a great job! I got a ton of compliments about the music he was playing and noticed people on the dance floor who usually NEVER dance. Steven is an excellent DJ, and the only one that we have used at the UC Davis Extension Center for as long as I can remember. While, the composition of our International students may vary, Steven does an excellent job in playing just the right set of songs to ensure that they are having a great time. We have never had any complaints about his music selection, and the students love his sets. It's a bit different since many students have such a varied taste in music as they are from around the world, but Steven has it from the latest top 40's, to great throwbacks, and to the oldies. Steven's a great guy, always willing to listen to requests, and is a go-getter. He has all the equipment ready to play at the event, doesn't need a hand to set-up, and usually brings. He's willing to play requests, is super polite to everyone, and very understanding. read more

Steven was the DJ at our wedding and a great fit. He is professional, timely and easy going. Prior to the wedding there were several email correspondence where we hashed out what songs I wanted played (and didn't want played!), location of set-up, arrival time, etc; he always responded in a timely manner and even had suggestions of songs when I wasn't quite sure what I wanted. Steven helped to to edit songs and played portions of lyrics that I wanted. His transition between songs were good and he even took requests from the guests which was great! Everybody got to hear a song that they liked. All in all Steven did a great job and I highly recommend him to be a DJ at any event. read more

DJ Evensteven was the DJ at my wedding last year. Wow, it is unbelievable that it has been almost a year! Anyway, Steven is great and reasonable. Not to mention that he is professional, punctual, creative, easy going and very nice. We loved the playlist that he prepared for us. Since we didn't want to stress much about song selection, we just told Steven the types of songs that we liked and asked him to gather a playlist. It was right on! Steven did a great job.
