I ended up calling to book rather than doing it online because I had a couple of questions and at the time it was just easier to call rather than email. I had a confirmation email and an email when was passed to dispatch so I knew what was happening. The guys who delivered it were on time, polite and got on with the job very quickly and the same when it was collected. The children loved it and we had a great open day. We will definitely see if it's available another time. Thanks Fiona

Let me give you some context: I wouldn't describe myself as 'cool' (not that cool people ever do!)…read more My little sister yes, effortlessly so. But I think I'm just a bit too silly to make it as a hipster. Which is why I was *especially* pleased to discover this place for the final stop on my bday drinks crawl. It's a Caribbean-themed rum bar hidden under a vintage clothes store in Dalston. Even just saying that to invite people made me feel cool! The key is not to confuse it with the real Pelicans & Parrots vintage store further down the road at number 40. This one is at no.81 and also a shop by day - but downstairs is where the fun happens by night... The bar here is simply called 'Below' and available for private hire on Fri and Sat eves. They allow up to 60 capacity but 40 is probably a comfortable top. The guy who runs it is super laidback so can take a while to reply on email, but was a gem in person and really enthusiastic about making sure I had a great night. You also get a doorman upstairs on the night to whom you can give an amusing secret password of your choosing - I had great fun thinking mine up ;) It's probably exactly what you're picturing a Dalston basement to look like but with some tropical themed touches. The decor is sparse though; think more subtle vintage signs on the walls than full blown tiki bar. There's chairs and candlelit tables plus a good space to dance - I got a mate to DJ to make it more special but you can just as well plug in an ipod. I was told Paloma Faith actually DJ'd there the week before for her boyfriend's bday party (in some shameless name-dropping from the manager!). The drinks set the theme off with a great selection of rums (to dangerously high strengths) and rum-based cocktails. We had 2 lovely ladies behind the bar who by the end of the night had a dance with us and were swapping fashion tips with my sister (the cool one). We covered the minimum spend by a mile and I defo wasn't the only one to have had a few too many Rum 'n Tings by the next morning...! It's a great spot for a party, esp if like me you want something unpretentious and without the worry of a big group all getting in. Extra bonus is all your mates thinking you're the new epitome of Dalston chic ;) ahh it made my night watching everyone come down the secret back stairs from the shop, wondering where the hell I'd brought them, then emerging wide-eyed to the sounds of Bob Marley! They don't really publicise it either, so go take a look if you're venue-hunting. You heard it here first ;)

It is a beautiful hotel, much smaller than Miami but that's to be expected in a large city. When we arrived to check in, we were greeted at the front desk and taken to see our room. I was immediately disappointed for a couple reasons. 1. No one wished my spouse a Happy Birthday, though we notated we were celebrating that and our wedding anniversary. 2. We were put on the first floor near the gym and the hotel was not at all full. Note that I am a Seeds member. 3. No extra blankets in the room, though that was requested. We left for a bit to eat and when I returned I expressed these concerns to Ilya. She immediately took action to upgrade our room and send a nice birthday treat and extra blankets. A special shout out to Slava as well for always being so pleasant to interact right. All in all, I think they are still working out some kinks being new, but still a beautiful place in the heart of London.

It was originally built in 1509 and has been home to people such as Sir Francis Bacon! The entire place is very well maintained and somehow manages to provide modern amenities while maintaining it's history and authenticity. The staff at the Canonbury Academy are all incredibly pleasent and very accomodating. The rooms are well planned and perfectly organised. Like I said earlier, they somehow manage to balance new and old. The rooms are gorgeous and elegant, but are also set up with overhead projects and televisions. Perfect! Our lunch and coffee breaks were served in an adjoining room which was also lovely, on both occassions. Last but certainly not least, the price is right. I'm actually suprised at how affordable the Canonbury is for events. They also offer a charity rate which chops off a significant percentage. Be sure to mention if you're a charity though, they don't always ask!

Okay yelpers, I need your help!…read more I have had crussh's sushi before and been pretty unimpressed. But then I forget...and several months later, when I have a sushi craving, I try it again. Argh!! Please yelp folks, if you ever see me entering crush, please scream "JOSY, DON'T GET THE SUSHI!!" to help me to remember not to be a waste-of-money-terrible-sushi-buying-idiot. My veggy sushi today was particularly bad. The rice was tesco-sushi-esque, so hard and with a slightly strange flavour. There were peas mixed with the edamame(!?) and the egg was super-sweet and more like a fluffy sponge than an omelette. The inari sushi wasn't bad- apart from the rice. Also I wasn't remotely filled up by the measly 6 bits of sushi and a little salad for £5.20. Crussh might be good for smoothies and meatballs, but just don't let me ever buy their sushi!! Thank you yelpers. I appreciate your assistance.

I had stayed here 4 years ago at the Copthorn and this trip I stayed at the Millennium. So, this review is for the Millennium Hotel. One item of note is that I happen to be a True Blue member of the Chelsea Football Club and this did afford me some upgrades because of the membership. However, I did notice that they offer the free breakfast for similar packages. The hotel itself is very nicely appointed with comfortable beds and amenities. The complimentary breakfast was huge. Buffet style, bangers, rashers, potato cakes, beans, tomatos and a varity of pastries and breads. Eggs were to order. They also include cereals and freshly made coffee with each cup. Many types of juices to choose from as well and fresh fruit to grab for a mid morning snack. Best to get in early for the breakfast, since the dining room is not extremely large, but on the day we couldn't be seated they directed us across to the Copthorn where we were provided with the same offerings in the 55 Restaurant complimentary as well. Service was prompt and polite. We saved a bucket by porking out on breakfast to fuel our day for walking around London doing all the things we had planned. Our rooms were turned down each evening and cleaned up nicely for our return. One item of note is that I would definitely bring an alarm clock, since their wake up service is a personal phone call and often it was later then we requested. On the last day, they actually came to our door to knock rather than a phone call, about 10 mins late. We requested internet as it was part of our package we booked. We had no service for one day, and the engineers took most of the day to fix it. Not a huge inconvenience for us, but it could of created havoc for anyone who was on business and was relying on this service to do their job. Everyone we came in contact with at the hotel was very polite and pleasant. Another item of note.. if you happen to stay at the hotel during game day, be prepared. You are not allowed to "hang out" in the lobby to see the players.... that was our plan so that was a bit of a bummer. However if you go across the courtyard to the Copthorn, you will be able to hang and even be able to get an autograph as the players come up from the parking garage. You must be a guest or at least have a friend who is staying since they will not let you in unless you have a key card. At the Copthorn bar I was able to meet and chat with Chopper Harris and Peter "The Cat" Bonetti, two Chelsea Legends who I watch play as a young lad. I will continue to stay here when I travel to London, it's has always been affordable to me and a nice restful place to stay.

First-Hand Experience: I love this team. I loved watching them in their new, amazing home in 2011, and will do so again soon. I've also seen them live many times, both in their new and old incarnations. I'm a massive fan. Great facilities, great fight in the team to rise up through the leagues like they did. I'm delighted that this is the 2nd team in the actual football league I get to review because they are absolutely legendary. See, here's what happened. Wimbledon rose up through the leagues and were a real force to be reckoned with in the 80s, with current Hollywood star Vinny Jones, plus TV star John Fashanu, plus wise guy Dennis Wise, and all sorts of other crazy people. They were, of course, known as the "Crazy Gang." Then some evil money person decided to move them to Milton Keynes. That sh** happens in America. That does not happen in f***ing England. But it did. And the team disappeared. But then the fans formed a new one, and entered it into the league system way way down, many levels below. And they've been rising up the leagues ever since and are now back in the big time, into the football league! It's a far cry from beating LFC (my beloved LFC, they best team in the world) 1-0 in the FA Cup Final of 1988 (don't mention Lawrie Sanchez, or John Aldridge having his PK saved by Dave Beasant... Beasant? Gold Balls? Becks?), but hey, it's a start, and they're well on their way back to the big time. If we can just get Oxford United and Wimbledon up to the Prem, it'll feel like the 80s again and I can finally get a record deal. By the way, they play in hideous dark blue with sexy bits of yellow sometimes, their old stadium was Plough Lane, new one is Kingsmeadow, and they're from a rich part of London but you wouldn't know by the thugs they call fans, which is kind of how it probably sort of should be innit? Their stadium is in Kingston-Upon-Thames by the way. Can anyone say Grey Poupon? Also this club was unbeaten for the longest period in pro football, 78 games. Meanwhile MK Dons haven't done sh**. Karma's a bitch. No, she really is. I'm married to her.
