Here are some highlights of my experience: Eli is very knowledgable and is able to explain everything easily so that people like me who feel like taxes are a foreign language can understand. I came in assuming I was going to owe so much bc I had no idea what I was doing or how taxes even worked.. but Eli answered all of my questions with patience even though I know I was probably asking the same question over & over lol. Now for 2019 I will not be stressed! Eli also shed some light on things I had no idea about like how putting money in an IRA can really help to save on how much I owe in taxes, and how I need to go ahead & pay estimated taxes twice a year, and other business related matters that as business owner i needed to know & did NOT beforehand. Before your appointment they give you this great "tax planner".. it pretty much lists out everything that you can & should be writing off on your taxes & allows you to put in the totals. This was so helpful.. it really helps you organize everything. I called with a question & was quickly directed to Eli which was nice bc I thought I was going to have to email or wait for a call back, etc.. Jane at the front desk is also very helpful, polite & accommodating. Overall, I highly recommend. Especially if you have no idea what you're doing bc I know I cant be the only one. I have used TurboTax and H&R Block in the past, years later I realize that I never knew all tax benefits that I was eligible for. I never got any tax returns. Uncle Sam would never give me. You can use self-service platforms only if you know exactly what you are doing. Ryan's advice was timely and comforting, and I've really enjoyed working with him.  The difference in my experience between using turbotax and working with Ryan is quite like the difference between going to a supercuts and going to a skilled barber at a nice barbershop.  Difficult to forget the difference once you've experienced it... I can't see myself bashing my way through turbotax again next year.  I can't recall the price difference, but know there's not a significant difference between paying turbotax to "review" your taxes, vs paying Brass Taxes for an actual consultation.  Like many people, tax code is largely over my head, and in either case I'm entrusting someone to get me through the process of filing, but being able to have a chat with a human being about it, especially a pleasant human being like Ryan, makes a significant contribution to the overall experience and my confidence in the process that is definitely worth it to me.   Cheers BT team, see ya next year!
