Food options are very limited, especially because of the holiday, but there were plenty of restaurants around that were great! Staff was very nice to us and we had a great stay. Rooms were very clean even though they told us there isn't room service (because of Covid and lack of staff) but our room was very clean. The AC was up to date and worked perfectly. Updated place with updated technology and working TV/wifi and everything you'd like in a good room. I only paid about $107 per night, so this is a little gem outside Chicago (thank god) I recommend this place if you're trying to get away from the city or trying to get a room near the city (only about 35 minutes away from the city) and it's also isolated and quiet. Great place!

As many pointed out the hotel is very dated and most of it is run down and beat up. The pool is rather small and even bit hard to even find, which is weird because why have a small pool thats not that easy to find in the first place? The surrounding area is like a forest and a nature preserve looking pond. People in our group saw all kinds of random forest animals when they went back there. Everyone at the front desk were nice and professional and genuinely sincere in helping me and my groups issues get resolved, except for the front desk manager. I forgot her name she is a Latina women with glasses. She was not as friendly and kind as the rest of her front desk team. She was by far the worst one working at the front desk by far. You had to wonder how the hell is she even the front desk manager??? She basically had me repeat all of the long list of issues that we had that the other front desk team members already were in the process of resolving for me causing me further nuisance. She basically did not believe what my story was for some reason and wanted me to prove to her that I was not lying. Like WTF? I was in town for business meetings why would I make up a BS story to try to bother the front desk in the first place? As a Gold HH you get like $18 a day credit so you can use that for food/beverage or the small convenience store behind the front desk. Most of the people in my group used the $18 on waters, oj bottles, chips, gum etc. So the $18 a day credit was pretty cool until like day 3 they ran out of stuff and did not restock anything until our trip was over. I saw others complain about cars getting broken into and car parts getting stolen in the parking lot, I fortunately did not have this problem or felt any concern/danger for that and the parking lot areas, but a few of the days some teenagers came over to hang out at the hotel and tried to swim and hang out in the lobby and other areas of the hotel. I'm not sure if they were actual hotel guests or just some teenagers trying to use the hotel as a hang out spot or what was going on? It would have been nice if security kicked those teenagers out for being loud and a nuisance but it seemed like there was no security really working at all from what I saw? Just a janitor/grounds keeper looking people who were gone once their shifts ended. The coolest part of my stay was probably my room as it had a larger deep soaking jacuzzi tub in it and the jets actually worked rather well like a real jacuzzi. I think had my room not have that I'd probably give this place only 1 or 2 stars then. I would not stay here again unless it was like a really good reason to like our meetings were actually happening in their banquet rooms or something.

The beds were comfortable and the linens nice. The kitchen and bath were tastefully done with granite and nice fixtures. All was in working order. The location was perfect. A short walk to the Brown Line, easy on street parking, lots of fun places to eat nearby. West Roscoe had an upscale family neighborhood vibe. We ate at the Turkish place and the Vietnamese place - both very good. A note to anyone who books #3. Make sure that you are comfortable with 2 flights of steep stairs. Make sure you know how to reboot a WIFI. And, ask about the A/C which must be on some sort of preprogrammed setting. We happened to be there when it was quite hot, so we had to often set the A/C to manual to cool off. This condo was a great home base for our 4 day weekend. It's always fun to be able to come "home" after a long day of sightseeing and relax and enjoy each others company in a comfortable space.

We go well acquainted with the #50 bus to get us anywhere in the city. Our "wired" set took full advantage of the fast wi-fi connection. I had wanted to stay in a hotel, but my wife thought this would be more "homey" and see was right, it was a great decision. The only downside to us was that the toaster seemed to be hard-wired to the smoke alarm, but once we figured out to turn the exhaust fan one before we did any cooking all was well.

I definitely do not wanna give a 5 star reading to the Indian woman at the front because she was condescending and rude to me and my family. I had come down and waited to talk to her in line. A black man cut me in line, she saw, and she did not say anything about it. I told her that I wanted to get toothpaste, and she told me I had to wait even though I was in line to speak first. This man spoke rudely to my underage son, who is just a child. He picked up the phone and she told him to stop and put the customer who was in front, also told him to stop in a rude way to stop picking up the phone and calling the front desk. I was in complete shock, so I did not realize what was going on and why he was talking to my son in that manner. We buy even more so than the rude customer. The man in front of me I was appalled that the woman at the front desk was not being professional and did not say anything to that man, because I, as a mother, of course, was in shock. She needs to stick up for her patrons. That was at the hotel line. Now, I've booked four different rooms for our family members and we were there for multiple days and I had asked for only six little packets of toothpaste and she practically screamed in shock at how many that was. Even though we were there for multiple days and had multiple rooms. I only needed to get through that morning before I could go to the store to buy more toothpaste. The hotel rooms themselves are pretty good, because they have separate rooms and a full kitchen. But I will never stay here again because of that rude woman. She doesn't care about her customers OBVIOUSLY and screamed about needing "so much" toothpaste when we were 5 families staying here over the course of multiple days. Absolutely ridiculous.

Our family has been attending Willow Creek North Shore since 2008…read more The North Shore campus of Willow Creek was the first church that we visited after leaving a very small church in Evanston and, because of Willow's size, we came with a lot of preconceived ideas, all of which turned out to be wrong. We were worried that we wouldn't be able to find a true community, we were worried that we wouldn't experience genuine faith and growth and we were worried that the transition would be difficult for our kids....boy were we wrong! Our years at Willow Creek have been formative for our family, for our children and for each of us individually. Although North Shore is a big church, about 2500 people attend every weekend, we found that, with some effort on our part, a church with that many attendees can actually have an intimate feel. Through our participation in community table groups (groups that meet monthly to have dinner, hang out and build relationships), small groups, church wide events and service projects we have built deep meaningful relationships with people in the community. During the normal ups and downs of life these are the people that have shown up for us and become like family. The church has also proven to be truly invested in people having a genuine, deep, transformational faith. The weekly teaching, which is often shown on a big screen and takes some getting used to, is pertinent on both global and personal levels. Rarely do I walk away feeling unaffected or unchanged by what I've heard and experienced. Classes are frequently offered to help us grow in areas ranging from marriage and family to faith and finances. The church also encourages serving locally and globally. At any given time there are serving opportunities as close as Evanston and as far as South Africa. This church and it's members are accepting of all people whether you consider yourself a Christian or not and it is really refreshing. Our families love to visit with us and even if they don't share the same faith that we do they always walk away feeling loved and accepted. One of the most vibrant parts of Willow Creek North Shore is it's student ministries. Our Kindergartener LOVES coming to church every week and she wouldn't miss it for the world. The really amazing thing is that our teenager feels EXACTLY the same way. The strong sense of community, acceptance and belonging that the kids have at Willow has proven to be a great source of strength and growth for them as they navigate all that comes with growing up. If you are looking for a church with deep community, excellent teaching and programs and an A+ children and student's program, give Willow Creek North Shore a try.
