Great vibe in Divine Theory. Carlos is a goddamn wizard wielding scissors and a razor. Best haircut I've had in years.

Geniune, high quality service and results with none of the "phoney bologna barber celebrity hooplah". The owner Jaime and ALL his staff are dedicated artisans who take deep pride in their presentation, performance, and perfection. I have taken my 3 school age suns to get their wigs chopped here and there was never a worry about discomfort or dissatisfaction. The stellar location, environment, comfort, products, and offerings are what earned Jaime and his team the Best Barber Shop Of San Diego recognition in 2023. Since then, Theory has only kept stepping it up. So yo check it out for yourself, you don't need to go nowhere else. Flicks represent before and after taper fade a lil off top, hot towel shave

Haircut by Jaime (low skin fade, trim off the top)- restyled at home after a wash.

First time customer and had a cut with Jaime. We had a great conversation from start to finish (even through our masks) & he got my cut exactly how I like it. The location was clean and had a ton of natural light which made it really nice and welcoming. Their COVID safety protocols are thorough and definitely made me feel at ease.

    Post hair cut smiles :)

Tucked away inside a business center in North Park is a hidden gem of a Classic Barbershop. Jaime is a well trained industry professional. For those that know the struggle of finding a barber know how long and hard it can be. Going shop to shop. Sometimes with poor haircuts. Sometimes with a lack of connectivity. Nothing is worse than getting a mediocre service as you feel like another piece moving down the assembly line. Well look no further. This guy is the genuine article. He has advised me on our way to my perfect haircut over the course of many haircuts. His authentic smile and obnoxious laugh are something I look forward to. I cant explain the level of life he brings to haircuts. I feel like I'm getting haircuts more often just to catch up with a great friend. Share some laughs with Jaime and whoever might be waiting in the shop for their haircut. This is what being a small business owner should be like. A personable experience. Quality services from a quality people. Yelp only has a 5 star feature. But you also get a 10/10 Paulie(the most prestigious of awards I can give out)

He didn't seem to know what I wanted and kept asking, so I had to tell him I needed a fade and showed him pictures for reference. He was way too rough the whole time. Every time he combed around my ears it hurt, and the clippers hurt my ears too. I literally pulled back my head because it was hurting so much as he combed down to my ears. Did he really not notice the way my face was in pain??? Bro needs to be a lot more gentle with everything. I had to remind in at the end to line up the front because he forgot...After the cut he refused to wash my hair because he "didn't have time." How is that my fault? If he couldn't finish in time to do the wash, that's on him, not me. He also didn't clean me up at all. I walked out with hair all over my face, in my ears and on my shoes. I was cleaning the hair from my neck with the mirror and he just ignores me and asks for money already . On top of that he barely said a word and had a bad attitude the whole time. Is small talk really that hard. The shop itself seems fine, it's just him. Didn't even offer water like his other co workers did for their clients. Basics aren't even done right. Haircut for that price and attitude is insane. Jesus maybe the reviews on yelp were bots cuz it's really not that good LOL. Would give a 0 if that's an option.

He knows all of his clients by name, learns their preferences and truly "sells confidence." He has been my go-to and part of my life's routine for over a year now, and that was after trying a dozen other barbers around. They just can't compete with the cut or family that he engenders with his business. I personally get my hair cut by Andy or Kandice, but you can't go wrong with anyone on his team. He's deliberate with each hire, so each can deliver the Debonair brand. Truly, I can't speak highly enough of this barbershop. My hairstyle is like a mid length pushback white guy hairstyle. She does a really good job texturing the sides and overall just does a really good job listening to what you want. I've gone to a lot of different barbers since moving to San Diego 10 years ago, always looking for someone who can give me a consistent cut every time. I specifically asked for a bob haircut with longer hair in the front and a short, graduated back. Instead, I got an uneven trim with the front cut shorter--the exact opposite of what I requested. What I received for $52 was nowhere close to a proper bob haircut. To make matters worse, while doing my hair, the stylist caught my earring with her comb and ripped it out of my ear. The earring fell somewhere in the salon and was never found. If they did not have a stylist capable of doing the haircut I requested, they should have simply told me. I would have gone somewhere else. Instead, they assigned me to someone who clearly did not have the skills to perform this basic haircut. The lack of professionalism extended to the front desk. The young receptionist was dressed in what looked like boy-short underwear rather than appropriate work clothing, with much of her backside exposed. Completely inappropriate and unprofessional for someone working at the reception desk of a business. Bad haircut, lost earring, poor judgment, and an extremely unprofessional atmosphere. I will not return to this location.
