I am visiting my parents in Asheville this week and Janet gave me an amazing reiki treatment! I…read morehighly recommend seeing her if you are at all curious. At first I was somewhat skeptical of reiki, but after having two sessions I'm a full convert. In my view, reiki helps clear out negative energies that might be stuck inside your body. These energies can lead to depression, pains in the body, and a general feeling of anxiety. The reiki practioner targets these energies and helps release them. Janet talked with me first about my needs and hopes for the session, and asked me to remain flexible with the outcome--and I'm glad she did because more was released than I ever thought possible. She made me feel very comfortable and cared for during the whole experience. Thank you Janet, from the bottom of my heart, for a truly beautiful, magical, and healing reiki session.

The person who was supposed to do our piercing had a stick up their butt. We called three times to make sure we could come in on the same day. Called to let them know we would be late because there was so much traffic and construction. We drove an hour and a half away. Anyway, we called the last time to let them know how far we were. They said to come on in, we asked if we should leave our name and number, they said no it was fine they were expecting us. Okay, so we walked in, we waited, and the piercer told us they would not do the appointment. Okay cool they were closing in 30 minutes. I can understand not wanting to do that anymore but why didn't they call us back and tell us they can't anymore? Everyone's time is valuable so I understand. I offered more money just in case we could. They got upset and had an attitude that I even asked. As if I personally offended them. They made it my problem that they wanted to close early. No means no, I respect that. So why were they speaking rudely. Of course that was annoying. So I asked if there was a place they recommended and I was asking more questions and they talked over me. I was taken aback by this behavior. I only wanted to try and ask. It was my sister's birthday and she wanted something special. The way they were speaking made her cry but she was very kind. Anyways I said for future reference it would be nice for proper communication and a heads-up. I don't know much about business etiquette but I do know that it wasn't nice for them to act the way they did. I in no way feel entitled to anyone's services but a little southern hospitality goes a long way. Anyways I figured I would leave my one and only review for this place. I wonder if things would be different if we were white. We went here because it was woman owned. "How empowering", apparently not.

A GREAT TATTOO EXPERIENCE!…read more I came in with a friend for a walk-in. We both were able to get tattoos on an early Friday afternoon without waiting. We were assigned tattoo artists based on how their style fit what we wanted. I was tattooed by "Pickle" and it was great. He did a great job and I felt comfortable here. Staff was all very friendly, we had some conversations about Star Wars with the staff and another gal that was being tattooed at the same time as us. I'll definitely be back to get more tattoos from Pickle, I liked this shop a lot.

Hot Stuff Tattoo has a huge sign on their front door that explicitly says: "We Welcome ALL…read moreAbilities & Disabilities... EVERYONE." Unfortunately, this turns out to be performative marketing rather than store policy. I came in with three friends/family to get flash tattoos, but I was denied service because I brought my legitimate, trained service dog. I was told I could not enter or that my medical service animal had to be left in the lobby, separated from me. When questioned, the management blamed local sanitation and "DHEC." Under Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), federal law preempts state health department regulations regarding service dogs. Tattoo shops are clean environments, not sterile operating rooms, and service animals are legally protected to accompany their handlers in client areas. Separating a service dog from their handler or turning them away denies essential medical access. It is incredibly humiliating to be publicly turned away--taking three paying clients out the door with me--from a shop that literally posts "Welcome All Disabilities" on its entrance. If you claim to welcome people of all abilities on your front door, you need to follow federal civil rights laws inside

Me and my good friend were in Asheville and decided to get matching tattoos. We called around and…read morethis place was recommended to us so we said why not. We wanted to get the word hope with a watercolor background. The people were fantastic. Everyone was really nice and welcoming. The place was beyond clean. It was a little weird that they had someone dying hair right next to us but I'm not going to judge. I believe our tattoo artist name was Dan but I'm not 100% sure. He didn't give us a business card. But he had recently come back from not working there for awhile so his name was not on the website. He said he specializes in watercolor so I was on board. No this isn't my first watercolor tattoo so I know the process. He decided to use only two colors. When I got my other watercolor tattoo my artist used a wide range of colors to get the idea that the colors were mixed together. He decided instead of using a stencil for the water color piece he would draw it with watery ink and then tattoo a gray outline as to were the color should be. And that's done if you could cover it with colors but that didn't happen. When I got it I loved it! Now looking at it I'm seeing little imperfections that shouldn't be there. There are small dots that aren't filled in. The outline is showing which in my opinion ruins the effect. And the colors do not look blended they just look like one was placed over the other. Overall, the place was amazing and the people where nice but the tattoo falls short. I don't recommend this place for your tattoo.
