I'm always a fan of trying something that's free and this was definitely worth my time. It's adorable to see the screaming children running around, getting into mischief, and making memories in and on the giant Gulliver. If you have a child or you're a child at heart, Gulliver is a must stop location along the Jardi del Riu Turia.
To maximize your turns for sliding and climbing, it's best not to go on the weekends or the peak hours of the afternoon. But the kids like to socialize and make new friends, so if you go at that time your children will definitely have new friends by the end of your trip. Also, I always bring a towel for faster sliding! That way you don't scuff your pants or legs on the well worn slides.
Other than that, go and have fun! You can easily spend an hour in the park, so in the summer it's best to bring some snacks. If you forget, there's plenty of vendors nearby wiling to sell you what you need (vending machines, too!)
