Coach Shannon is wonderful. The facility is always super clean, and you can tell there's a lot of care taken in maintaining everything. Communication is wonderful - you're never left wondering if you're missing something important. My only wish is that I would have started sooner.

Our kids are normally very shy but felt very comfortable with Piper during their first lesson. I was highly impressed with her ability to engage with them so quickly and earn their trust in the water. I'm so happy that we decided to sign up with Flow Aquatics. There are bandaids, towels, trash, poop, pee, no liners in the toilets, no toilet paper and no soap in the bathrooms. The staff is never on time, but the lessons for children are still set to the timed schedule, so the children miss their learning opportunities due to the staff negligence. Makeup lessons are extremely hard to reschedule. Staff is not trained for Neurodiverse people, which the constant unsteady routine of staff in time mess with not only the children's lessons but a routine schedule. Do NOT recommend this company or facility in Nampa,ID.

If you are going to have a crowded lesson for only 30 minutes then it needs to be high intensity. Not dunking their head in water, playing with toys and giving high fives. That's for babies who aren't comfortable in the water. A 30 minute lesson with 4 kids in the class gives my kid about 5 minutes in the water. The last 5 minutes of the class is reserved for feedback to the parents and it wastes a lot of time. Speed things up!

One thing I really like is a computerized set of weight stations, Egym, where all of the settings are adjusted automatically based on your level and the program you're using. After every six sessions (two rounds on the 11 machines) each machine gives you a strength test to measure your progress. Resistance for your next set of trainings is then adjusted. For someone who once messed around with an old Universal Gym during ju for high but didn't understand how much weight to use, when to increase it and by how much, this makes it much simpler. The cost is a reasonable $10 per month over the normal membership fee. My aging body isn't so limber, so one of the Egym trainers suggested taking a free beginners yoga class she teaches. It's helping to stretch those muscles. The staff is friendly and things are kept spotless. This location has become the Y's busiest Boise-area location.

The best part is the nightly sex offender check on all employees & members to keep the kids safe. There are 2 weight rooms. One is mostly machines, along with their cardio equipment & the other is mostly free weights. There's an outdoor & indoor playground, including 3 indoor pools, splash pad, 3 water slides, a lazy river, an aqua climbing wall over 10ft of water & swim lessons galore, even for special needs. I have had a very difficult time working with this swim school from the beginning. I signed up for…read moreprivate lessons and was contacted the evening before asking if we could switch times and when we arrived no one was there and our lesson started 10 minutes late, I had booked two private lessons but ultimately my kids had to share an instructor for the first half of lessons and then were finally split up so we really didn't get the benefit of two private lessons but had to still pay as if we received two private lessons. Then I signed my kids up for group lessons, my daughter who is in level 2 had a great experience whereas my son in level 1 was left unattended in the small wading area the majority of the time and had less than five minutes of instruction time and otherwise was completely unattended playing. I decided to give it another shot and signed up for an additional month of lessons and the first lesson I signed up for although it was advertised as March on the site ultimately when I purchased it showed February in the Email confirmation so my enrollment was not active, but the charge was in my account. I immediately emailed to get it corrected as February lessons had already ended and we had already attended them but received no reply. I went ahead and signed my other child up for March lessons and after a week and several emails and voicemails that had not had any reply I went ahead and signed my son up for the March lessons in order to secure a spot while still trying to remedy the situation. Two weeks later, six emails, two voicemails and multiple texts later I received only response via text with a promise to resolve the duplicate of charge which ultimately was never resolved and none of my emails were ever replied to once. There is often last-minute communication about being shortstaffed, classes that need to change times and all sorts of chaos it seems to be happening all the time and they apparently don't monitor the email system whatsoever or just make a choice not to reply to people. I think the instruction in private lessons is good, but the chaos of working with this company isn't worth it.
