I had the pleasure of Michelle providing me with much needed hair care treatments and a beautiful…read moresew-in, exactly what I asked for. To start she gave me a free consultation as I explained my hormonal hair loss/thining and the style I would like to have. During the phone consultation she allowed me to send pictures -- my hair as it was, along with the style I was looking for. She gave me her professional opinion and made me feel at ease. She assured me that she is in the healthy hair business as well as applying styling techniques and treatment that will promote healthy hair growth. She even gave me a long-term plan on what to expect over the next 8 months in simple terms so that I had a good understanding of how she plans to proceed in our journey. She really cares! When I arrived she was prepared with everything we discussed. I showed her a "slightly" different style than the picture I sent her during my consultation, which required a different closure. To ensure I would leave happy with my style, she immediately pivoted and set up our new plan and went with me to the beauty supply store to select the correct hair closure for the exact style I wanted -- so amazing!!! She washed my hair, treated my hair and scalp, then braided my hair in preparation for the net sew-in. There was one place that was a little tight in the back. For the first time, I felt comfortable enough to tell her without feeling like I would upset the stylist. She eased the tension with no problem and said she appreciated me letting her know early in the process which only took 2 seconds for her to snip and fix. I usually do not feel comfortable enough to say anything for fear the process may go south, if the stylist is upset. Michelle is a true professional, with advanced experience in understanding "how" to care for "your" hair based on "your" hair type and its condition. She is warm, friendly and you will feel like you met a friend. We had such a good visit during the process and it only took her 3.5 hours to wash, apply treatment, dry, braid, sew the net onto my braided hair, sew the hair onto the net and finally the FAB styling. It was a beautiful transformation, as I could see myself during the process. I love that Michelle is fast but not "rushed" in the process. Thank you Michelle for your expertise, taking care of my hair, making me comfortable, the pleasant friendly visit and providing me with a hair care journey plan. Your kindness and willingness to help me overcome my hair challenges is a blessing and a relief. I love, love, love my style. My husband and my mother are amazed at how beautiful the style is on me and how natural it looks. I am looking forward to this journey with you, well beyond 8 month milestone! Amelia

I had an event coming up so I said what the heck, I'll go to an actual salon and see if it makes a difference. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AT THIS PLACE OF DISHONORABLE PRACTICES AND TIME MANAGEMENT ISSUES…read more I booked an appointment on Wednesday May 29, 2024 for a 9:00am slot with Lea at Adja's African Hair Braiding salon on Friday May 31, 2024, after seeing their special advertisement on their website. It read that the hair would be included in the price. I thought it seemed very professional. I arrived at 8:45am and no one was inside. I called Lea, the hair braided. She replied, I'm on my way. While standing outside, a lady from Allstate Insurance let me inside and said "They are always late" The should have been my cue to leave. Another lady came to the salon with the same time with a different person. Lea didn't come until 9:30 am with several McDonalds bags and a beverage. This was already unprofessional to have a client waiting. Then she asks me to give her 30 minutes and said "I'm hungry." I retorted "you knew I was coming". I thought that she was going to be professional and take care of my hair. She took herself out of the room and leaving me unattended. If this wasn't bad enough, the owner tried a fraudulent practice when she wanted me to pay extra for the hair. I told her no, as my bill was $240 and included the price of the hair. I told her about Lea coming late and then I thought about what was told to be about the owner and staff. I proceeded to pay for my braids. She said her machine was broken, so I had to go to my bank to pay her, as the internet was also down. What kind of business is this...a business that wants your money and do not respect your time as a client. I would not refer this place as a salon. It's a place with several rooms with women braiding hair. THEY ARE UNPROPESSIONAL WITH TIME MANAGEMENT ISSUES AND FRAUDULENT PRACTICES OF HAVING ONE PRICE ON THE WEBSITE AND CHARGING CLIENTS ANOTHER PRICE. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS UNPROPESSIONAL JOURNEY TO NO ONE.
